Hmm, can anyone think why they'd go for Bluetooth 2.1 instead of something made within the last decade?

My opinion on this? If it had a dock like the Switch, I would buy this in a heartbeat. Even if it doesn't dock in the same way, if I can hook it up to a TV/monitor and play a game with a normal Steam Controller, then unplug it and play a game on the go, I'd get one.
That's really where the whole 'convergence' comes in handy, I think. Been thinking of getting a Switch or something because of that, but I'd MUCH rather get something where I can play Steam games! Plus this looks powerful enough to be able to hook a keyboard up to it and use it for other things.

I'd think (just a theory, I have no inside info) the reason they don't have kernel level drivers for the Steam Controller yet is because a lot of it is tied into the client, which is closed source. Also possibly tied into specifically big picture mode. I certainly know some aspects of the controller aren't accessible unless you are in BPM.
How does the kernel level driver plan on handling the configuration of the controller? I think these are all things Valve was considering before they just said 'screw it' and slapped it into Steam.

To be fair, it does work on Linux wothout the client, but only in keyboard/mouse mode.

I tend to only buy games on GoG that are from the original use case of it, old ones! These usually aren't on Steam anyhow.

Quoting: tumocsYou'd be a terrible Jedi. No care for the whole galaxy...Quoting: gomeraSo, are you guys buying games from GOG even though they never finished the promising GOG Galaxy for Linux?Yes.
DRM free goodness with installers available from the website. That's been the draw for me with GOG long before the whole galaxy came to be. I don't care about the whole galaxy and never have.

Shit, I think I'd missed this article, or was so disappointed by it that I'd forgotten.
I'd received an email today regarding Battletech's pre-order. Then noticed on the page that it only shows Windows/Mac, then came here to see if an article had already been done on it, and there was an old one...
Sad days!
Also Note: they have a 'pre-order and get free shit' offer... but who wants to pre-order it without a guaranteed Linux version?

Not to mention that drivers in the mainline kernel tend to not gather dust, like ones you have to compile outside. Like I'm pretty sure this weird parallel port web cam I used to have no longer will compile with a newer kernel, so won't work. Granted webcams are so cheap now...

Step 1) open kickstarter, say game is going to be multi-platform.
Step 2) Design game for Windows even though you promised it to be multi-platform.
Step 3) Profit!
Step 4) Ignore screaming people because it costs to much because you were dumb and didn't use multi-platform tools/APIs...
I think that pretty much sums up far too many projects.
I'm pretty bitter about this one (and System Shock 3) because wtf??? Actually I'm getting kind of pissed off at Tower 57 too...

Quoting: GrimfistI just can't Diablo 3... that game is the most boring I've ever played. I was initially playing it on the PS4, and with the necromancer... I just stand in place and push a button until all the things are dead, then move to the next area. I've only died three times in that game, and we've beaten the first main story, just not the expansion. First time I died was because a friend on my list was killed by some creature that was in the 50-60 level range (I was 30th at the time), apparently it just dumps them into your game so you have a chance to act revenge?Quoting: scaineThis looks superb. Like a Hammerwatch take on Hero Siege. If only I hadn't just bought Vaporum...!That's what I thought exactly. Both mentioned games are awesome, so this is a natural buy for me. But I will wait, cause I just bought the Hero Siege DLCs and need to finish them before. Also the new Diablo 3 Season just started, which takes some time to finish. So many games, so little time :D
