Looks like upcoming brawler MultiVersus works great on Steam Deck & Linux desktop

I am assuming thos is one of those game styles that is 5000 times more fun to play if you are local? Like the original Smash Bros. I never played that, but everyone at work really wanted to get into it for the Switch, so I bought it for that and played it to get good before competing with said co-workers... and then we never did. And now I haven't played it since!

This does look fun though.

Oh no. Those guys are the worst when it comes to Linux support.

Their Bards Tale port for Linux has an input bug that makes character run in a direction non stop for years. I've tried to reach them via multiple channels but they don't just don't respond.
While I have not had this issue with the input bug, it is kind of silly that the game can clearly detect if you have a gamepad, yet does not automatically turn it on and you have to use your mouse / other pointing device to turn it on. I couldn't get 'proper' gamepad support to work on the Steam Deck at all, and had to use a wasd controller layout that a community member made.

but transgaming boosting linux popularity more than any other stuff on linux too.
İts a double agent thing as Trending "proton compatible" trick by game developers. Build for windows but earny money from linux users just because Linux users found a way to run that software on their linux system.
and still transgaming is just like rolling dice. For example i got new AMDGPU now lutris games not working anymore. But Steam proton works like a charm.
Please don't try to coin TransGaming—the name of the (ex-)company—as a generic term for this. I realise some generic term might be needed but this is not it.
Oh god, yeah. We don't need people going around being called 'Transgaming-phobic'

Tesla to demo Steam for more in-car gaming soon using Linux & Proton
23 Jul 2022 at 5:22 pm UTC Likes: 1

Quoting: fleskAccording to Wikipedia, the Steam Deck has a 40Wh battery, while the smallest Tesla batteries are 50kWh, so that'd be at least 1000 times as much gaming on a single charge, unless you also use it for driving.
According to a friend who bought one, and my own opinion having ridden in one, the Teslas aren't really fit for driving anyhow. May as well be a battery for playing Steam games!

CCGs and deckbuilding are very different things though - a "deckbuilding game" is a game where adding and removing cards to your deck is part of the game, not just a game where you build a deck out of your collection and then play with it.

It comes from boardgames like Dominion, but on videogames roguelite deckbuilders became a kind of new genre after Slay the Spire. Deckbuilders usually have you go through your deck several times, don't have a minimum deck size (in fact, removing cards to make the deck more consistent is a big part), and you are usually given a pick between limited options rather than "your entire collection" - and those often cost an in-game resource, as opposed to having a "meta-game" (it's as if you bought cards with mana instead of money, because it happens in-game...).

Not that this bundle seems to care, as neither Gwent or Cultist Simulator quite fit (for different reasons). But when people mention "deckbuilder", don't expect anything at all like MtG.
There are definite aspects to some of the deck building games, like they have DLCs or unlockables. Either way, it reminds me of it and so I dtay away from them. Like as much as I enjoy Munchkin, I never bought into the CCG version.

Souls-like game Hellpoint: Blue Sun major expansion DLC is out now
23 Jul 2022 at 12:44 am UTC

Quoting: scaineI loved Hellpoint so much that I ended up buying a FromSoftware game - Dark Souls 3. It was rubbish. Very pretty graphics, but unlike Hellpoint, the monsters in DS3 "cheat" by many of them having unlimited stamina. That means that every fight is a basically just a test of your reactions, which becomes extremely tedious. Hellpoint had a really nice balance in this regard, that the monsters would eventually have a cool down that you could exploit between attacks. Still brutal, but fairly so.

Elden Ring has much the same problem, but at least in that game you can just farm extra levels if you find a fight too difficult.
My problem with that style of game is that you drop your progress when you die, and then they block off any chance of escape where you died, so there is no way to retrieve it without being able to defeat whatever keeps killing you. (Talking about Elden Ring)

Starship Troopers: Terran Command on Steam Deck and Linux — a quick guide

However cloud saves don't seem to be working for me. Despite saying 'Steam Cloud: Up to date' there's no sign of my previous saves from my PC playthrough at all. The only option I get is to start a New Campaign which I'm not interested in (I'm about 16 missions into the game). Any ideas?
I have previoulsly rsynced stuff over.

Huh, which Bard's Tale did they port, the top down version? I don't think I have ran into that bug on it. I should try it on my Deck.

This one.
The shit thing with this updated port is that the PC version doesn't even have proper gamepad support. It is the reason I never beat it (though steam says I have 13.8 hours in it! Probably all the times I have tried to get it to work). On the Steam Deck I had to use a different gamepad profile for me to even get into a game... they should patch in Steam Input then it would be all happy.
