I have not been able to find this driver on nvidia's driver site. What is the list of supported chipsets for the 381.XX drivers?

It's also worth noting that there are open source engines to play the Jedi Knights games on, since at least one of those is discounted on GOG right now. And work toward an engine for KOTOR1/2

Quoting: ShmerlCan it work as a drop in replacement for OpenVR (API that SteamVR uses)? Also, strangely it seems to be using OpenGL, not Vulkan.I don't believe it's meant as a drop in replacement yet. Yes, it's using OpenGL. I unfortunately know little about it, other than knowing that it will be a way to use VR devices without being dependant upon Valve.

One of the devs has hacked together a OpenHMD version of OpenMW, or so I was told on OpenMW's IRC channel.

Hmm, I wonder if this will fix the longstanding issue I've had with unity games (and perhaps it's fixed, I've not checked with newer unity titles) where you cannot launch multiple unity applications at the same time.

SDL is actually much more an analogy to the full DirectX stack than OpenGL/Vulkan are. (Which as graphical APIs are analogies to the Direct3D portion of DirectX) In fact, SDL also has wrappers around OpenGL to handle the graphical parts too. SDL can handle window management, graphics, audio, input enumeration and handling, and is basically the swiss army knife of open source game development. It's left most similar efforts in the dust long ago. (Allegro, I'm looking at you!) I'm kind of interested in which pieces of SDL Unity will be using.

Quoting: AnxiousInfusionI guess we can say WINE is spiritually the new DOSbox. There is an entire horde of games from between ~1999 to ~2007 that could use these faux-ports. Like you say, I don't really care how they get to my display so long as the installation and runtime is seamless. To be fair: Wine has been around a LOT longer than DOSBox. It's also still being updated. I've not seen a new release of DOSbox in.... over 4 years now.

For RPG fans, D&D fans and horrorish fans, I can't recommend the two Ravenloft games available on GOG (From the mid 90s) enough. Atmospheric, yet still hard system AD&D RPGs.
