AMD Lose Another Big Name, This Time To Nvidia

As a former AMD user, the actual status of that company makes me sad..
Remember the good old day when AMD used to make CPU's with hidden cores? Those were the AMD days!
But nobody can live off past glories... I have to move on.
If they release a new AMD socket with 4 channels DDR4, they can fight against the Intel 2011v3, but nooo; today We have those dual channel APU's and those power inefficient Bulldozer's and Vishera's (I have an FX 6300).
There are only TWO good APU's that I would like to have in my hands and they are not available for the desktop users, because they are console exclusives..
You see. I purchased a LEGIT copy Windows 7 OEM pro 64bit SP1 (it cost me about 200 U$D here in Argentina) for a gaming PC dedicated to those games I have that will never be ported to Linux (like my EA origin games and Uplay games). Windows 7 pro OEM has a DRM that binds the licence to the mobo.. well.. I can not tie a LEGAL license of Windows 7 to an obsolete technology like the AM3+ or FM2.. I need to tie that license to a more or less "future-proof" mobo, like my actual Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5, powered by an i5 4690k (but I will purchase an i7 4790K in the next days)
By the way, the machine with the Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5, the i5 4690k and a Zotac GTX 960 2GB eats no more than 230VA from the wall using a generic "500" PSU... I have unexpected resets in the machine powered by the FX 6300 with the same memory modules, same PSU and same video card...

How to improve the performance of the Unreal Engine 3 games on Steam Os or Ubuntu with that config file?

Well.. Deadfall Adventures is a Native port and its performance sucks: Everytime I load the game it takes minutes to load and it makes my machine crash very often... The first time I thought it was a wrapped game, but no, is native.... a bad native port.
Meanwhile, Bioshock Infinite, a wrapped game (that uses the same engine, UE3) runs beautifully on the same machine... The first time, I thought it was 100% native... But no, is just a job well done..
So, there is no winner in this Wrapper vs Native war... Well, there is one: US, the players.

I played Bioshock Infinite on Linux... It was the first time I played that game and I did it for the Playfire Reward.. But I fell in love with that game immediatelly... It runs beautifully with all the settings at maximum on Ubuntu 14.04.03 LTS with a Zotac GTX 960 2GB DDR5, a core i5 4690K (no overclock), 2 x4GB ram 1866 HyperX fury and a Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 5
Now, I'm playing the DRMFREE version of the original Bioshock (the humble bundle edition) on Ubuntu via WINe 1.7.50.. And it runs very well.. After that, Im gonna play the DLC's of Bioshock infinite..

.. And this is why I'm gonna open another Steam account just for use it on Linux..
The videogame business on Linux is something new and is walking little by little, like baby steps..
We MUST support it.. My small contribution is to open a new steam account for use it on Linux and purchase games only when they are released on Linux.. I will do the same with GOG, greenman, Gamersgate, etc.
How many quality games are on Windows?
in my opinion, most (about the 95 %) of those 6478 steam games that only runs on Windows are, indeed, junk, shovelware, crapware, abandonware.. choose the name you want.
We don't have much good quality games for Linux? Well, Let's make them! :woot:
We can open an international company, save money (a lot), and make our own AAA game exclusive for Linux. :P

Quoting: liamdaweSorry, but again, there isn't 1,000 quality Linux games on there, I can guarantee the actual number of quality games is well under 1,000 which is my point. I have nearly 500 of them, so I have a pretty damn good idea what I am talking about here when it comes to the quality of games that we have. So?
I think people here need to step back from their fanboyism of Linux games just because they have a Linux version, there's a massive quanitity of games on Steam for Linux that are just junk. This is my point, we need more good quality and big named games to improve our outlook. A number is just a number.
Look at my second to last bit the article, highly rated games are much more worthwhile than the overall amount of games we have.

EA is another big company stuck in the old vicious circle "We don't make games for Linux because nobody use it, and nobody use Linux because all the games run on Windows"... And they will die with Windows
fortunately, big publishers like Deep Silver are not part of that vicious circle and both Metro Redux are solid evidence of that.

Unfortunately, the Linux version of this game will be Steam exclusive, like both Metro Redux games.. That's sad..
I want my games DRMFREE... I like to own my games, and not to rent them.
I have a love-hate relationship with Steam...
Steam is a DRM. I dont like DRM.... But Steam is on Linux and like the Linux philosophy, that why I'm gonna make another Steam account only for use it on Linux.

Obsidian: Developing For Linux Was Not Worth It

5.)They are ignorant devs.
6.)They are lazy and ignorant devs.
Is sad to see that a lot of devs are stuck in the "We make games only for Windows because millions of people use Windows because thousands of videogames runs only on Windows" vicious circle.

Quoting: subThis!4.)They are LAZY devs.
Also, when it comes to investment, I wonder which of the following statements is true for Obsidian:
1.) They don't know about SteamOS.
2.) They know about SteamOS but don't know it's actually Linux.
3.) They know about SteamOS being Linux but don't have faith in it being successful.
3.) They know about SteamOS being Linux and see it being successful but still doubt the market share will justify a Linux release.
Did I miss something?
