Ah! I guess this is why Borderlands: The Handsome collection is on sale just now, even when the Steam Summer Sale 2019 [External Link] will start this June 25
The GOG 'Summer Sale Festival' is live with a ton of games discounted

Quoting: ShmerlMaybe because the Linux version was subsidized by Valve, making it Steam exclusive, like Metro Redux and Dying Light?Quoting: liamdaweI spoke to VP, they said essentially it's not down to them as they don't have the rights for distributing it.So why would 2K not do that, if they released the Windows version on GOG?

AMD officially announce the "Zen 2" Ryzen 3 series & new RDNA GPU architecture + Intel tease new CPU

I am not a fanboy of this or that brand, but I look certain features like a good CPU lock mechanism.
The CPU lock mechanism off the 115X socket is more efficient and safe than the CPU lock mechanism of the AMx socket..

Quoting: fabertaweMy current CPU (i7-4790k) is the first Intel CPU I ever bought. If I'd known what was coming I'd have stuck with AMD. I can guarantee my next one will be an AMD.I have the same CPU.. Old, but powerful for gaming.

Tomb Raider test On Linux via PROTON 4.2-5.. Much more performance than the Linux port made by Feral.

A new PROTON version has been released:
4.2-5:
Update DXVK to 1.2.1.
Support for new Steam networking APIs. Should fix some newer titles, including A Hat in Time.
Many controller layout fixes. Should fix controller layout in many Unity-based titles, including Subnautica, and some Ubisoft titles.

Maybe the devs at GOG just don't have the mental skills needed for this...

Philip Rebohle is THE software developer!!!...
He even works on weekends!
How many devs do that?
I admire this guy!...And I don't say this often.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is officially coming to Linux in 2019
17 May 2019 at 10:54 pm UTC
On windows, I can play it with the graphic preset on Normal.
The main problem with the Feral ports is this:
Once whatever Linux game port is released, just after few weeks or months later is completely abandoned by Feral. :(
Take a look their Linux port of Tomb Raider (2013)... They can update it to Vulkan for to improve the performance, because it runs better via PROTON.
But, no. They don't update it because blah, blah, blah. :><:
The same for Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Mad Max and LIS:Before the Storm... I know, Mad Max has a vulkan beta, but it is not the same...
But the topic here is SotTR and the trial version works right now via PROTON... I only need to upgrade my GPU from the GTX 970 to a GTX 1660ti (is the best I can do here in Argentina) :)
I am curious about the system requirements for the Linux port against the windows version, but something tells me that the difference is gonna be huge.

Quoting: ScooptaUh oh, I have an R9 Fury which means I might need an upgrade too since our cards are pretty equal =(The problem with my GTX 970 are the 3.5GB of VRAM... SotTR eats about 4 GB at 1080p with the graphic preset on high.

Quoting: GuestAny DXVK benchmarks will not indicate how well it might run when released by Feral. Rise of the Tomb Raider, for example, is incredibly smooth on my machine when using the native Feral port. It doesn't run at all with wine, and last I heard the performance from anyone who managed to get it running with DXVK was no match at all for the native version.Maybe the Denuvo included in the Windows version of Rise of the Tomb Raider is the responsible for that...
Be patient a little longer.
