So I'm wondering, does using the Steam beta make any difference? I'm wondering if that's why some people are getting the error and others aren't.
For the record, I'm currently opted out of the beta, and I get the pop-up message whenever I start Steam.

Quoting: SystemShockI have the same Error on my Ubuntu 16.04 Installation. That's my thought, too. I'm guessing someone will fix it. We just have to be patient.
It pops up one Time when i start Steam.
When i accept this popup Message everything works normal for me.
I'm not sure wether or not to do all the annoying Stuff as mentioned above or just give Valve and Canonical some Time to fix this Bug.

Quoting: KristianThey really are, because they place 100% of the risk on the consumer. Once the developer has your money, it no longer matters to him if he succeeds or fails, because he already has your money. It seems to me that crowd-funding successes, where the developer actually fulfills 100% of his promises, are the exception rather than the rule.Quoting: Mountain ManI've said it before an I'll say it again: The only developers who deserve my money are ones with a finished product to sell. I will never support Kickstarter or "early access" or any other crowd-funding scam.Crowdfunding campaigns are NOT inherently scams.

This game looks really cool. I love the "futuristic retro" vibe, and the whole idea of interacting with the game using a command line really appeals to my inner Linux geek.

As far as I'm concerned, Paradox is one of the few companies to do DLC right.

Quoting: GuestSad they only make their "grand strategy games" otherwise I might be interested. That and their DLC ridiculousness.Actually, the DLC isn't that ridiculous. Yes, they release a lot of DLC for Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis IV, but their expansions always offer a substantial amount of new content and features, plus new content and features get added to the base game for free as part of a corresponding patch. Furthermore, the base games offer a complete experience in and of themselves, so the DLC isn't required content allowing you to pick and choose only what you're actually interested in.

Hearts of Iron IV looks amazing like an amazing game, as does Stellaris.
And, yes, Paradox gets top marks in my book for their outstanding Linux support. They were one of the first developers on Steam for Linux with Crusader Kings II, Europa Universalis IV was a Day 1 Linux release, and patches and expansions get Day 1 Linux support.

Quoting: SaladienI wont preorder. Paradox has a track record of unfinished games. So after its release, hopefully this game will be as good as it seems and bug free :). Then i will buy it.EU4 had quite a good release. I bought that on day one and didn't have a single problem with it.

Quoting: Segata SanshiroBut just to be sure you're not going to hell, you should delete your Windows partition just in case :DI did that months ago. I had Windows 7 update get stuck in an unrecoverable loop, said, "Screw it!" and nuked the partition from orbit (it's the only way to be sure). Haven't missed it.
