Magicka 2 Looks Like It Will Land On Linux Soon, Having Final Tweaks

Quoting: berillionsI hope that the game will support the SteamPad
Technically, every game on Steam will support the Steam Controller.

Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition Looks Set For Release This Month

Quoting: FutureSutureI will buy Divinity: Original Sin at full price once it is finally out for Linux. Late support is far better than no support, and Larian is still giving us Linux users a quality game. I do hope Larian is more prepared with regard to Linux support in the future, however.
Sorry, but they shamelessly jerked around Linux users and especially their backers. That's unconscionable and not something that should be rewarded.

Yes, they are (belatedly) supporting Linux, but so are a lot of other developers who are frankly more deserving of our money.

The developers have treated Linux gamers very poorly and really don't deserve our support. There are now enough quality games being released for Linux that we don't need to put up with this crap. I think I'll spend my money on Sword Coast Legends instead and maybe revisit Divinity Original Sin if it goes on sale with a 90% discount.

If it's priced right then the short length doesn't bother me. I really enjoyed the first two Trine games.

The Latest Steam Hardware Survey Shows Very Little Difference
2 Oct 2015 at 8:31 pm UTC

Well, this is depressing, although I'm still convinced the survey is deeply flawed. What's even more disheartening is that I see some developers citing the survey as a reason why they won't support Linux even though actual game sales on Linux are between 2% to 5%.

Armikrog, The Clay Animation Point & Click Puzzle Game Is Now Out, A Bit Of A Buggy Mess

Quoting: ShmerlNeverhood is owned by EA which clearly exists. Please vote here by the way:

Well how about this: as soon as EA puts this game up for sale, I will happily buy a copy. Until then...

On that note, I wonder if the original video files still exist for this game and if something like an HD remake could ever happen? That would be awesome.

Quoting: DrMcCoyNo, it's legally a very clear black-and-white area. DreamWorks Interactive was sold to EA. EA owns the rights to the game.
Yes, but the game is not actually available for sale, which makes things rather murky.

I'm pretty much dead-set against piracy, so it's ironic to me that often times pirates are the only ones preserving some of our gaming heritage. For instance, almost the entire Commodore 64 library of software would not exist today if it wasn't for pirates.

Quoting: untriangleThe Neverhood, now abandonware
In addition to Shmerl's comment that The Neverhood works in ScummVM: "abandonware" does not exist as a legal concept.
It's one of those grey areas. If the company that owns the IP no longer exists (in this case, the defunct DreamWorks Interactive) and/or the product is no longer available for sale, who is really being hurt if you download it for free?

Well, this is a disappointing review. The Neverhood was such an awesomely quirky game, but I guess it's hard to catch lighting in a bottle twice.

Humble Indie Bundle 15 Has Launched, Say Hello To Skullgirls

Quoting: Mountain ManAnd spare me the "charity" guilt trip. Most people don't buy Humble Bundles because it's a charity but because it's a great way to get games for cheap
I don't belong to any religious affiliation or give to any charity groups on a regular basis to care to "guilt trip" you.

Though your words are very humbling to know that your intentions are to simply throw a penny in the basket, so to speak, to self flagellate yourself over a beta port and cry about it. Reminds me of one of those hipsters. Not saying you are one, but if I were to picture right now... I would definitely see you flagellating yourself over a charity event. Seems like the human thing to do. My apologies, mate, carry on with your noble cause. Manners are indeed best spoken with an imaginary golden spoon and a dribbling mouth.
Um, dude, you were the one crying about how it's a charity and that we shouldn't complain if we don't get everything we pay for, so if there's any self-flagellating going on, it's your own back that's on the receiving end. And really, what would a boor like you know about manners? Perhaps you should take the log out of your own eye before looking for a splinter in mine.

I'm just stating basic facts and alerting people to the current state of things regarding Xenonauts since we Linux gamers have been burned in the past with unfulfilled promises. I'm not saying that it will necessarily happen in this case, but it's always a possibility until the game is actually available for sale.
