The big new RPG Where Winds Meet release works well on Linux

Quoting: RFSharpeMy grandsons played many hours of this game on Sunday. During the character creation process the player is able to utilize "Smart Customization Voice." A basic explanation is:

"Smart Customization’s voice mode is designed to map some traits of your real‑world speech onto your character."

You do this by reading the provided sentence into your microphone. Using this, the game generates a “voice preset” attached to your character. If you would like to get a better idea of how this works, this article gives a much more detailed explanation:

I am not an expert, but this process smacks of AI...
And now someone has access to an AI generated simulation of thousands of people's voices that were voluntarily given to them.

Quoting: linuxjacquesTotal War: WARHAMMER III review ratings on Steam are ... not great.
I stopped trusting Steam reviews a couple years ago. Too many trolls and review bombers have rendered the overall score effectively worthless.

Another game for me to stumble across in my Steam library a couple years from now and ask myself, "Where the heck did this come from?"

@Bumadar

Thank you for the info. I was under the impression that it was much, much earlier than that, but I guess those were "unofficial" releases.

Huh, I thought these had been released into open source a long time ago.

I think inadvertently nuking your Linux install is the most common cause of distro hopping.

If you end up wanting the full thing, there will be a Total War: WARHAMMER III Upgrade Pack available on Steam.
What do you mean by this? Is it just a demo being automatically dumped into people's Steam libraries?

I played many hours of the original Guild Wars. In fact, it was the first MMO that I ever played. Guild Wars 2 was fun for what it was, but it just didn't have the same feel.

I'm surprised screen off downloads wasn't a day one feature, but I guess better late than never.
