Considering the way Paramount has destroyed the Star Trek brand, it's not surprising to see people losing interest in the franchise. They have actively alienated their core audience in pursuit of a "modern audience" that doesn't exist.

I've been having a great experience running the game in Manjaro, but any performance improvement is always welcome.

Basing an entire business model on the continued success of a single live service game probably wasn't the best idea.

I've put in about four-hours so far with only one issue: the voice audio stopped playing about an hour in even though all other sound effects continued to play. Restarting the game fixed it, and I haven't encountered it since. I did switch to Proton Hotfix, so maybe that made the difference? I have no idea.
Edit: Based on what I'm seeing on the Steam forums, voices suddenly stopping is not a Linux bug but is happening in Windows, too.
The other issue I've encountered is occasionally flickering textures when one texture is placed over another, for instance, in some cutscenes when the BB pod turns from opaque to transparent, the opaque texture will flicker. I've only encountered it in cutscenes, curiously, and I've not yet figured out how to fix it.

Starfield is one of my favorite games, so I'm excited, but with Death Stranding 2 imminent, I won't get back to Starfield for a while.

I've been happily using Manjaro without issue for several years, but this latest news is disheartening, and I think it's probably time to distro hop. I've heard lots of good things about Fedora.

...we all know that nothing is going to improve with the current US administration.I see, so it's somehow Trump's fault that this developer started using AI and feels the need to obfuscate it after facing criticism.

Quoting: dimkoWhen someone buys a PlayStation, they're naturally going to want to buy games for it, and when they buy a PlayStation game, Sony gets a bigger cut of that sale than they would selling that same game on PC. The more games someone buys for their PlayStation, the more vested they are in the platform, and the more likely they are to buy the next iteration of the console, and the cycle repeats.Quoting: Mountain ManSony doesn't want to sell games, they want to sell PlayStations and lock customers inside their walled garden. What is profit from locking someone into their walled garden? Define it and explain how it benefits them. :D

In a perfect-Ish world
PS4/PS5 runs on a heavily modified version of FreeBSD OS which is similar but not the same as Linux.
Instead of porting their exclusive games to Windows, why not making the Linux only exclusive. In doing so, Microsoft/Xbox next-gen will not be able to run them.
Am not a developer but since the kernels are similar, wouldn’t porting to Linux be quicker than Windows?
Doing so, they can still put their games on Steam or their own store/launcher
