Valve is leading the way. Looks like a company finally figured out that all they have to do is follow. And with this coming from the Manjaro team, there's no risk of Microsoft suddenly swooping in and forcing them to install Windows instead.

This was tempting until I looked at the Steam page for Street Fighter 6 and saw the game is not only infected with Deunuvo DRM, but it requires a Capcom account. Much less tempting.

Death Stranding is my all time favorite game. I am eagerly looking forward to the sequel, but with a 2025 release date for PS5 means we probably won't see it on PC until at least 2026. Ugh!

There are different kinds of music licenses. The most expensive one grants rights in perpetuity, which is typically the license purchased by television and movie studios. Or they might cut a deal with the artist (or more likely the record label) to pay a small royalty on every sale.

While video games are popular, they do not generate anywhere near the revenue of a top movie or television studio, so game studios tend to have less clout when negotiating music licensing deals

This is the one misgiving I have about PC games being sold almost exclusively as digital release. It's too easy for someone to flip a switch and take them away.

So I can make what is effectively a carbon copy of another 3D modeler's work and call it my own as long as I scale my model up or down? That doesn't sound right, but perhaps I've misunderstood what you mean by "rescaled".

...it seems AYANEO with the AYANEO NEXT LITE weren't convinced enough and so they've changed their minds.
