I've been largely disappointed with Aspyr. They did some good work early on bringing games to Linux and then all but abandoned the platform.

If they're getting these DLC up at the same time, as we've been told and quoted in the article, they've clearly not abandoned it.

Which is why I said "all but abandoned the platform". They are still supporting Linux but not with the enthusiasm they had early on.

Many, many years ago before Steam for Linux, I started keeping track of open source game projects because they were pretty much the only games available for Linux at the time. 0AD was one of them. As I look through my few dozen archived internet bookmarks now, most of the sites are either gone or haven't been updated in years. And yet here's 0AD still going strong and looking better than ever. Given its professional quality, I'm surprised it hasn't been given a price tag and sold as an "early access" project on Steam.

Even without any other additions, just to have a fresh build with all these improvements. It's still using one from 2017 I think and has a bunch of visual bugs with no Vulkan support.

Pretty sure they ceased development on Unreal Tournament when Fortnite took off.

And yet Epic still won't port their most popular game to Linux.

Not that I would ever play Fortnite -- nothing about it appeals to me -- but it shows how Epic really feels about the Linux platform.

This is very similar to Space Trader for the Palm OS. I spend many, many hours playing that game when I should have been working!

I've been using Plasma (KDE Neon) since version 5.17 (October 2019), I haven't had any problems yet, and it's being the best DE for me to play with GTX 960 (KWin has solved my tearing).
If you haven't tried KDE Neon User Edition yet, I think it's worth a try ^_^

I've used KDE pretty consistently since the version 3 days, and the last time I remember encountering any issues with stability was back in the early days of version 4 on Gentoo -- and that very likely could have been a Gentoo problem rather than a KDE problem (or more specifically, a problem with how I had Gentoo configured). The last dozen or so releases of Kubuntu have been rock solid.
