Quoting: Purple Library GuyI don't really like Intel, but this doesn't really worry me. I mean,Local and physical access tends to decrease the effectiveness of and defeat many security measures. For that matter, if someone has physical access to your machine, they could simply walk off with it and crack it at their leisure.
they would need some sort of physical and local accessWhy are we even expecting any kind of compute-y thing to be secure when someone has physical and local access? That was never a thing when I was young, and I'm fairly convinced that if we think it's a thing now it's mainly wishful thinking.
A few months after entering Early Access, Daedalic put their RTS 'A Year Of Rain' on hold

Quoting: TcheyToo many games release in Early Access way too soon in their life.I don't understand this statement. Isn't the whole point of early access for developers to charge customers for the dubious privilege of beta testing their broken and unfinished games with no guarantee that it will ever reach a finished state? There's a reason I stay far away from any game with the "early access" tag.

I wonder if those of us who got the game for free with the Steam Controller can get "refunds"? Would be a nice way to really jam it to the developers for screwing over Linux customers.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoI remind you that STADIA IS LINUX and big publishers are supporting it..I think like Android and Chrome OS, Stadia is more Google than Linux.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoKeep in mind I'm referring to long-term support. Most VR games are one-off releases.Quoting: Mountain ManWe're still niche, and that's a problem. Developing for Linux is more attractive than ever before, but we're still a tiny percentage which makes long-term support a problem for many studios.VR is much more niche than Linux and there are several VR technologies, but that doesn't stop publishers...
This is not about the logic of market share; is about the emotions and personal point of views of each CEO.

Quoting: 14As someone who has thought about buying the game many times but hasn't yet, I can only agree that the DLC overload is daunting. I don't want to put that much research into the purchase of a video game.My suggestion to newcomers to Paradox games is don't worry about DLC until you've gotten comfortable with the base game, which offers a complete experience in and of itself. Only then should you look over the DLC and see which ones appeal to you and mesh with your play style.

I love Paradox games, but if they go the subscription route, I'm out.

I had forgotten that Stadia was even a thing. Seems like there was lots of hype about it, then it was released, and everybody promptly ignored it. Just doesn't seem like its made much of a splash.

This is why it is my personal policy to never buy a game unless I'm willing to accept it "as is" without any expectation that it will be fixed or improved in the future.
