Quoting: cobalt2727Yes, a working plugin also exists for Amazon Prime Video. Last I checked there wasn't anything for Hulu though. No idea about D+.Quoting: fagnerlnThis would be awesome if Linux had native apps of streaming services like Netflix and AmazonI know a really nice Kodi plugin exists for Netflix - not sure about Amazon though.

Also have 3 other much less expensive usb C docks from Amazon and they all work fine with the steam deck, so you can get by with a lot less if you want to come up with your own docking solution.

Quoting: TrainDocIn the time between when I ordered my "upgraded" dock from then and now my dock went from New York and New Jersey (no, it wasn't on the dock). You have a valid point. I pre-ordered the rev 2 of the dock not long after it was announced back in early July. I just received it a couple of weeks ago and now there's a rev 3 being announced. The price is nearly doubling for every revision too, though the m2 slot is a nice touch. I have a 512gb high speed samsung sd card in mine and a 512gb m2 so I'm not overly worried about storage but this will be a nice option for some.
Kinda frustrated that I could have paid for this and a much better dock comes within seemingly less than a month. I know that production and technology goes fast but this feels like a slap in the face. I'm not one to be sour about these things because I bought my Index knowing Valve's support for SteamVR has been (putting it politely) "less than stellar".
Very nice to see a new feature like this regardless and I hope it treats it well.

They should bump up to at least 4 3.1 usb ports in my opinion for what they're going to be charging. I have to use an external hub on my daughter's docked desktop steam deck because I don't want her mouse and keyboard taking up the only usb ports on the hub.

The Steamdeck is amazing and a steal at $400 (+ the cost of upgrading whatever inside it yourself, I got my 512 2230 for $52)

Quoting: dubigrasuMaybe is a bit silly, but I would love to see a "controller mode only" for this device. Basically using it for your other PC/devices, the same way as any other controller. Not talking here about streaming or anything, but just having it turned off (or some low power/standby mode) and attached to your (more powerfull) PC, instead of the SC for example.I would be surprised if this doesn't happen. They can even get clever with it and allow additional game interaction through the steam deck touchscreen when it's being used as a controller.
Why, well, because its array of inputs makes it even more awesome and versatile than the Steam Controller itself. Sure, I would very much prefer a SC 2.0, if they ever make one again.

Quoting: GuestIntel tried x86 phones before and it didn't work at all, but then they were a newcomer to that field too.I had a couple of their x86 mobile devices and they were actually a lot more powerful than the ARM processors they were competing against. Their problem was that everything was already written for ARM so there was an emulation layer translating the ARM software to run on the Intel chips which sucked away a ton of power and performance. If Intel had gotten in early enough and the software had been written for x86 to begin with we'd probably all be using x86 based phones now.

Quoting: ShmerlI'd like some FOSS UI for it though. Is it using some custom Plasma or Steam's own UI?I hope they come out with a lightweight steam client daemon that can provide steam services with a lightweight system resource footprint. The steam client is a bloated hog.

Seriously though, I don't think I've ever complained about a game not working on my distro. The only game I can even think of that I just couldn't get to work at all that a lot of other people didn't seem to be having problems with was Payday.

Quoting: KithopBut for a vocal 0.1% running that Frankenstein's monster of a tricked out Gentoo build?Hey, why'd you have to bring me into this conversation?

Quoting: JuliusWorks fine here on Manjaro as well. Graphics take some time to get used to, but the game is a solid loot driven ARPG. The main problem is that it is way too easy. Even on legendary mode you can just walk through it at least with my character build. Maybe I got a strange unbalanced skill combination by accident?I have a feeling it's just pretty easy, at least for a while. I started a berserker last night and so far can just face tank everything.

Graphically this reminds me of Ignition from the mid 90s (great game). It would be fun if there were a level editor available and someone could recreate those tracks in this game.
