Looks like Easy Anti-Cheat strikes again with Steam Play, Paladins is no longer playable on Linux

Disclaimer: I take no position on whether Paladins is "good" or "bad", however. The real lesson in these situations is that whenever you run software designed for other platforms through translation layers and emulators, it serves only to endorse the continued dominance of non-free standards.

That game is dumb as hell. I try it to check how well steamplay work and believe me that was the most boring experience.Yeah, who cares about a popular game with currently over 16 thousand people playing no longer working for us.

It's kind of sad that this is something so rarely done that it warrants such fanfare. Players of a given platform should never be isolated into their own little ghettos in the first place.

Even though I reject Valve's DRM client, I hope they keep plodding along so everyone else can continue to benefit from their various contributions upstream.

This is beginning to parallel the situation we see with movie streaming: Every publisher is rolling out their own storefront and viewers feel compelled to sign up for a dozen different subscriptions just to maintain reasonable accessibility.
Only, in gaming, replace "subscription" for "locally installed client" and now you have users running a million different launchers in the background. This is the sort of thing that makes PC gaming look bad.

Let's all take a moment to appreciate that this developer has demonstrated an IQ above 80 by correctly labeling Windows as "Windows", and not as "PC".

Quoting: GuestWARNING: Salty comment here.Godot engine didn't exist when Supertux project was first started.
Sorry to say this, but this game is just wasted resources, i mean, it's free software and that's great, but the gameplay is just like 80s games with even worse art, you can reply me with a "do it yourself" but i really don't know programming, i just know that any side-scrolling platforming game should be like New Super Mario Bros or even better if you want to give people some fun.
Look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AW90pNpI3A4 [External Link]
They should start a GODOT project and that would be much better, also Tux has no charisma, face it.
How i think a free-software platforming game should be?
1- Stop calling it SuperTux trying to emulate Mario, and don't copy his powerups, a penguin throwing fireballs is just ridiculous.
2- Let us play 4 players or more, and introduce different characters and skin support, so the community can transform them into Mario or whatever they like.
3- Put it on Steam and give us workshop support for stages (just like Mario Maker) and online coop.
Only that way the game would be something relevant.
