30, 40, 50 are only significant because we use a base 10 system. If humans had only eight fingers or fourteen fingers we might find significant birthdays to land instead on 16, 24, 32 or on 14, 28, 42 respectively. It is amazing how we are able to mentally compartmentalize sets of years as though being 39 years and 360 days is any different from being 40 years and 2 days, for example.
