AMD's first Ryzen Desktop APUs with Vega graphics are now available

Quoting: TheRiddickI hope Raven Ridge 2 will work in AM4+ motherboards also, and that they offer a 8core version running at 4.5ghz, NOW that would be awesome, it's what I will hold out for to replace my 1600 CPU with.
Next generation of APUs is codenamed "Horned Owl" IIRC. They probably still won't have eight cores. The next immediate round of APUs would more likely be a refresh similar to Kaveri -> Godavari, same arch but revised manufacturing process and higher clocks w/ lower power.

Quoting: KelsMy first question with any first-person game is does it have adjustable FoV? Alternatively, is it set to 90 or above by default?
Field of View is one of the first options. I think it is global, not just for first person mode.

Dawn of War III likely to get no more major updates as it hasn't sold well

All I want is Dawn of War 1 with pretty graphics. Is that so much to ask?

with both supporting FreeSync
Being integrated, if these are paired with boards have any Displayport below version 1.2a does that nullify the Freesync support? Or is it only the monitor side with that that requirement?

Echoing what Samsai just said, maybe you want to reiterate your ideas on a forum thread? This article is already a day old and GoL's collective eyes are moving on at this point.

Hi, Nanobang

We are glad you like the look.
On the other hand we did not want to keep you up at nights :).
The term "spline" refers to it's mathematical definition:
A continuous curve constructed so as to pass through a given set of points and have a certain number of continuous derivatives.

If anyone is interested the wiki article for this topic is pretty good https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spline_(mathematics) [External Link]

Here you can see a view from the Unreal Engine Editor. The white curve (with white points from time to time) is the spline we are referring to, the character, NPCs and the camera movement is based on this. The movement of the character and the NPC's is generally restricted to where the spline (the white curve) is.

We know this is not a widely used term outside of computer science/mathematics but as your comment proves, people will start to learn what a spline means :D.
My first encounter with the term was with "Reticulating splines". Had no idea what it meant at the time.

Looks like the Linux market share on Steam went up in January

Some of your (EDIT: GoL community, not Liam) quotes from when that percentage was trending downward:

The survey is pointless anyway since Valve does not mention the sample size.
In my opinion the steam survey is a highly unreliable way to count Linux marketshare (as a whole).

Firstly, it can only count those who have steam accounts. Not all Linux users have steam.

Secondly its numbers are way out of sync with everywhere else... 0.2%? Almost all other places rate us at 1-2% range.
...As I said, we should just ignore this "random" survey garbage.
If it doesn't matter to you when it's going down, then why does it matter when it's going up?

The developers of fan-made Halo game 'Project Contingency' have decided not to support Linux

Windows has support for both DX12 and Vulkan.
While Vulkan has support for both Windows and Linux. Develop for one API, runs multiple platforms > Develop for multiple APIs, runs only one platform.

These devs have played perfectly into the worm-on-a-hook tactic employed by DirectX *hand rubbing intensifies*

Buy hey at least it supports Linux, right?

Unfortunately, games of this quality make up too large a portion of those 4100+ Steam Linux games.
