Valve put up a new Steam Linux Runtime 4.0 with a move towards 64-bit

Even though SteamOS has migrated over to Arch Linux, the runtime is still using Debian as its basis?

An answer to ARK that a museum of natural history wouldn't be allergic to? I hope their game sees enough success that later on down they line they might consider a proper native release.

One of the few factors in the first Steam machine's failures was on the part of fence sitters (people like myself) not moving on the opportunity to buy one.

This is our second chance. Or my second chance, anyway. I will certainly be buying one or several Steam Machines.

Valve had better fix their "SteamOS + Linux" search category before these things hit shelves!

EDIT: They've already fixed it ? https://store.steampowered.com/linux [External Link]

I have felt this way about Megabonk. Players are not the one placing the attacks or landing the hits. Players are just in charge of positioning, navigating the map and selecting upgrades. It's perfect. Automate the grunt work. Hand-off the rest to the player who can now focus more deeply on what really matters.

I poked around a bit and discovered that the "SteamOS + Linux" category is also broken when viewing independently in a normal web browser.

"Special Sections" > "SteamOS + Linux" [External Link]

Just a blank white screen.

Yet, when selecting "Special Sections" > "MacOS" or others, there are no problems. I think somebody at Valve might have made an oops.

Sorting by "Steam OS + Linux" just gets me a blank, black page now after the update. And the tile art no longer loads for that category button. Did they just remove it?

The Falconeer gets a huge Revolution Remaster upgrade but drops Native Linux for Proton

Unity Engine

🤨

It's simply [too] much for me to support additional platforms for two games.
The Falconeer supported platforms:

Microsoft Windows
Xbox One
Xbox Series X/S
Amazon Luna
PlayStation 4
PlayStation 5
Nintendo Switch
Stadia
🤨

I don't want to be mean, but I do wonder what troubles he'd run into with the Linux build.

Steam Deck gets a new low-power screen-off downloads mode

Steam must make use of extensive compression because downloading and installing Steam games drives my CPU fan to be audible. That can't be cheap for battery operated devices to contend with.

I guess I picked a good time to buy. It is fun but tough to get into as somebody who grew up playing F-Zero rather than Wipeout. Piloting the racers in this feels comparatively like trying to steer an oceanliner at transonic speeds.
