Gunmetal Arcadia released with same-day Linux support

Really nice 80s imitation. A lot of indie games go for pixel graphics simply because it is easier but Gunmetal actually appears to go for that console-on-a-CRT-television appearance.

Quoting: ShmerlI suppose Steam is becoming more like itch.io, with barely any filtering of what's submitted. There is some benefit in that too (GOG filtering can prevent some good games occasionally from coming out there). But the downside is of course a huge noise of various irrelevant stuff.

It is still in beta as far as I'm concerned. I'm still waiting for an update that will allow me to hear the game's audio.

Getting the 'threaded GL dispatch' code into Mesa is causing some issues, Valve might use a white-list

If SteamOS does adopt a whitelist for this, it really could become a "best distro for gaming" out of the box.

Talos is actually the perfect kind of game for VR. It's not heavy on action and perspective plays a huge role. I wish more companies would announce updates like this.

Super Pilot, a cool futuristic racing game could get a Linux version

Quoting: WorMzyI'm curious what you think of CounterStrike: GO and TF2 then. CounterStrike was the major multiplayer shooter when I was younger, and although TF2 is more of a hat simulator these days, I hear it still has shooter and multiplayer elements.
"major multiplayer shooters" being code for Call of Duty. Sorry, but I consider Counter Strike to be in a different class entirely.

EDIT: To elaborate, CoD is basically the Mario Kart of FPS in that it levels the playing field with all sorts of BS perks and drops and killstreaks whereas Counter Strike essentially has no skill ceiling.

This site is the only reason I bought the game. Ballistic is the closest thing we have to the major multiplayer shooters.

Mesa has a patch from a Valve developer to help ARK Survival Evolved run on the open source drivers

You have really built up a wealth of resources here. I'm patiently waiting for the day a prominent company or event or press references the GOL statistics page which has been running almost long enough to show meaningful changes in trends.
