The Steam Hardware Survey for September 2016 shows Linux has grown some more
2 Oct 2016 at 3:54 pm UTC

Quoting: EhvisI don't think the crap part will stop Win10 from growing. It didn't stop Windows as a whole.

A lot of interesting statistics also appear when you start filtering. Linux users appear to run the most powerful hardware on average. Pretty much half of the Mac users run on Intel integrated GPUs. That puts the Mac percentages in perspective and shows why Linux is interesting to Mac porters like Feral and Aspyr.
Hell, yeah with Linux users tendency to also be DIYers you know we have a ton of extra hardware laying around. I just recently cobbled together some server hardware... it triggered the Steam survey.

Vulkan Mesa drivers recently dropped on Debian so this is good timing.

Just a heads up, Saints Row: The Third on Linux has broken co-op play

Even in a Windows-to-Windows connection, Saints Row IV (and probably 3, by extension) netcode sucks donkey balls. I can't say I'm surprised in the least.

In case you only skimmed the article: online multiplayer is not cross-platform with Windows players. Be careful with your purchase if you intend to play with friends.

'Osiris: New Dawn', a graphically impressive multiplayer adventure and survival game coming to Linux

Quoting: TakI don't get why "+1" is spam or unhelpful.
Developers usually say things like, "We'll look into supporting Linux if there's enough interest." Why should everyone write an essay just to indicate interest?
Then let's come up with a new way to express interest. Perhaps something like the GNU plus Linux copy pasta. What is spam, in their book?

Yooka-Laylee has another trailer, featuring Shovel Knight

They seem to have found the boundary between fair use and copyright infringement and decided to push right up against that line 100%. Even if somebody who had never yet heard of Yooka-Laylee saw this trailer, it would be clear to them that it is basically Banjo-Kazooie 2.0 made by Rareware 2.0.

The GameCube and Wii emulator 'Dolphin' can now boot every GameCube game

Ooh, you're going to trigger the GOL crowd hard with a rant like that. But you just shared your journey that led you to the realization of console's true purpose: to artificially manipulate the prices of games, services and accessories. That $260 you pay just to play SSB is to lock you tightly into a closed ecosystem zoo.

I have a few childhood favorites that I "keep alive" through emulation so projects like Dolphin are a godsend. Other than that, I don't touch console anything with a thousand meter pole.

Little late on this due to inbox spam (too many games getting released!)
Yeah, no kidding. That release calendar is ridiculous and we only have one more week of Septempber. You broke it down by month specifically because the page was getting too long?
