If he feels this way about the project then the game should be left up for users to play for free. It's better to have anyone play your game, paid or free, than not at all, right?

Ashes of the Singularity developers say Vulkan for their game is pretty far along, Linux after

Quoting: lejimsterJust look at Rocket League, they've had help from Valve and still no Linux version months after it was promised.
Months years after it was promised.

I hate imgur's new interface...
Can I make a request for sli.mg support? When I try to link its images with bb code nothing shows.

Still waiting on The Tempest, of course.

CRYENGINE is planning to add in Vulkan support around October for the 5.3 release

IIRC there is only one CryEngine Linux game on Steam and it's a wintersports themed game. This news is more exciting when you imagine projects like Star Citizen might take advantage Vulkan.

A reason for poor performance on AMD plus Mesa has been found and a patch is in progress

Quoting: babaiI Agree that customers should expect proper performance right now and not wait for another year, also this fix will probably go into the radeonSI userspace driver and not MESA.
Still, AMD has contributed much code to MESA in the past years, show me some from NVIDIA (no please not any Tegra DRM code)?
If you are using Linux for freedom/open source idealism, ideologically you SHOULD buy AMD products and not tell me how a 1060 overpowers an RX480 today. AMD had no obligations towards supporting MESA or opening up millions of lines of DPM code for their chips. They still did.
Support a company that supports your platform.
If you don't follow the open source philosophy and using Linux just because you like say the millions of widget themes it supports or for any other reason, buy Nvidia.
*Cautiously points out that AMD GPUs require closed firmware blobs.

Killing Floor 2 release date announced, Linux version to be post-launch

I honestly thought KF2 was going to release last November because it had already been in early access for so long even back then.

Aspyr Media are teasing something to come in three days time (updated)

Quoting: finaldestI agree with others who have stated that it will be Civ6 or The Witcher 3 but I am going with Civ6.

I would love it to be Doom or GTA5 but I can only dream.
San Andreas would be ideal since it is older now and relatively small (as software) compared to newer GTAs. Other franchises have tested the Linux waters by first porting older or smaller titles. Doubtful that Rockstar would do so, but again, one can only dream.

Three retro Disney games are now on GOG with Linux support

We have already established that these Disney games GOG just added are no longer abandonware so loggfreak is not referring to these games when he says "they simply don't give you an option to pay for it." I'm sure we can all think of a few ancient games today that literally have no legal means of acquisition. Props to GOG for "liberating" these titles.
