1. While there is still a huge playerbase, the numbers are already dropping and this doesn't bode well for Linux getting in so late.
2. Others have already had years to practice. If you planned to jump in and be able to compete above the casual level, there is a lot of catching up to do. Hopefully not too late.

If he feels this way about the project then the game should be left up for users to play for free. It's better to have anyone play your game, paid or free, than not at all, right?

IIRC there is only one CryEngine Linux game on Steam and it's a wintersports themed game. This news is more exciting when you imagine projects like Star Citizen might take advantage Vulkan.

Quoting: babaiI Agree that customers should expect proper performance right now and not wait for another year, also this fix will probably go into the radeonSI userspace driver and not MESA.*Cautiously points out that AMD GPUs require closed firmware blobs.
Still, AMD has contributed much code to MESA in the past years, show me some from NVIDIA (no please not any Tegra DRM code)?
If you are using Linux for freedom/open source idealism, ideologically you SHOULD buy AMD products and not tell me how a 1060 overpowers an RX480 today. AMD had no obligations towards supporting MESA or opening up millions of lines of DPM code for their chips. They still did.
Support a company that supports your platform.
If you don't follow the open source philosophy and using Linux just because you like say the millions of widget themes it supports or for any other reason, buy Nvidia.

I honestly thought KF2 was going to release last November because it had already been in early access for so long even back then.

Quoting: finaldestI agree with others who have stated that it will be Civ6 or The Witcher 3 but I am going with Civ6.San Andreas would be ideal since it is older now and relatively small (as software) compared to newer GTAs. Other franchises have tested the Linux waters by first porting older or smaller titles. Doubtful that Rockstar would do so, but again, one can only dream.
I would love it to be Doom or GTA5 but I can only dream.
