Thanks for the heads-up. It is a simple idea, but very well executed!

Wow - I just finished the main campaign (clean hands, ghost) and in 30 hours I think it crashed maybe once, but not the whole system. Running a GTX1050 under KDE Neon (20.04 LTS), I got 130 FPS almost the whole time using Proton 5.13-4. Just starting the DLC tonight.

Quoting: PhlebiacSupraland - mostly before he dropped Linux support. He kept breaking it in updates, then dropped it. Seems to work fine with Proton, but was annoyed (especially since he had just finished the Kickstarter for the sequel, which promised Linux support), so just haven't gone back to it so far. Maybe he'll bring back Linux support when he has to do it for the sequel, or maybe he'll just be a dick and cancel that despite it being promised.
That was really sad to me. I enjoyed Supraland and it ran OK on linux. The dev is obviously very creative (even does the jazz music for the credits), but he was very dismissive of the linux users that had already supported him. If I buy any more of his games, it will be in the far future when they on sale for $2 and have proven to be bulletproof under proton.

  • Hollow Knight (Truly beautiful) (Native)

  • Prey (If you like Bioshock or System Shock 2 probably will like this game too) (Proton)
Hollow Knight is amazing if you are patient and like Metroidvania games.

I just finished Prey 2017 and really enjoyed it. It ran very well in Proton and didn't have too many bugs. To keep with the Arkane Studio theme, I just started Dishonored for the first time. Running well, too.

Damn, Proton has opened up so many things that were hiding in my library.

The best Linux distros for gaming in 2021

I tell most people to use Ubuntu or Kubuntu. I haven't used POP so can't comment there.

I used Gnome2 for a while years ago, but I just cannot get into Gnome3 in any flavour I have tried. I am biased after 18 years of linux use, but KDE Plasma is the only real desktop option for a power user.

For someone who isn't a beginner and wants something more lean than Kubuntu, I recommend KDE Neon. It uses the Ubuntu LTS as a base but keeps the Plasma packages current. Nice and fast for those of use who don't want a rolling release distribution.

Quoting: soulsourceThere is an important piece of information missing regarding Ubuntu: People should imho only use LTS versions.
I very much agree with this.

DOSBox Staging has a rather large new release out with 0.76.0

I have used dosbox for over 10 years for an old piece of business software. I am hugely thankful to that team.

I believe there is also a 64-bit version for MacOS being worked on, which is nice for any Macs running Catalina or Big Sur. Edit: It looks like 0.76 is now 64-bit on the Mac. Super!

Great! I like the style - very slick.

This looks a little like "Pictopix" or "Paint it Back" in concept, which were both quite good.
