This is a very impressive project.
In order to play the GOG version of Pharaonic, I recently used the steam "Add a Non-Steam game" function and set the controller up using the steam overlay. It kind of defeats the purpose of buying on GOG, though, if I am still reliant on Steam for the controller interface. I should have tried SCC instead.
I appreciate all of Valve's linux support, but monopolies are always scary, even when they start out "nice".

This looks great! I am glad to hear the devs are doing things the right way.
"A huge connected world to discover, full of many different enemies, bosses and extra quests."
My Metroidvania addiction will look forward to it!

Well, I finally got a chance to put some time into it. Firstly, the story is still top notch and the puzzles are interesting. Some of them seem just a little random, but as long as you look at everything, you can generally figure stuff out.
However, I agree about some of the combat. Fighting blue clouds just doesn't seem like it makes any sense in the story. The One's martial arts was pretty good, and a lot like a rhythm game, but it comes back to shooting silly clouds.
I think it is still an amazing game, if only for the writing and world-building, but the combat could have been a little more integrated in parts. Verdict: Go into it will low-ish expectations for the combat and the rest of it will still be brilliant.

I bought this at release, since I had a great fondness for the original on Xbox. The game adjustments for modern systems are a real benefit. The dev was very quick and responsive in the steam forum with fixing the bugs I ran across. I don't know if they have done many other ports, but this was top notch. I can think of a few other classic Xbox games they could do next...

Quoting: GuestCalling the humanity stupid and not starting with yourself is very elitist. I feel like a lot of people keep blaming humanity for problems created by capitalism.Let me just say that I have sympathy for your view, but this probably isn't the place for that discussion.

Update: It looks like the devs have fixed that "no damage" bug first mentioned. They are working hard on tracking down a few others. Although they seem kinda new to the linux thing, they are certainly making a good effort!

I bought it on release day but haven't had time to fire it up yet. I don't remember getting frustrated with the controls in the first game, but they did take a little time to get used to.
In the end, I will be happy as long as the dev was able to keep the atmosphere, world-building, and amazing story!
It ends up feeling like a point and click adventure, with some combat sprinkled in, it is a very strange mix.Only talking about Part 1, I agree it is an unusual mix. However, I guess I find many point & click games too static these days and so enjoyed the combat. I will have to see how I feel after playing Part 2.

You are correct that Einstein had many socialist views. However, I don't see how this quote makes Einstein seem an elitist?

Quoting: GuestInteresting that I had not heard about the quote being disputed, but you are right that people aren't sure:Quoting: tonRBut always do remember as Einstein (disputed) quote,Einstein never said that. He was a socialist, not an elitist.
"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."
