Very interesting! :) Finally something fresh in the FPS genre. I'll definitely be purchasing if and when it's actually out on Linux. :)

Wow! =D This is amazing news! Mount and Blade: Warband is one of my all time favorite games, and it's simply amazing that it's still being given this level of attention from the devs. :)

Quoting: tmtvlI mean, it's ugly as sin, so if I bought one I'd have to buy a proper case as well...

...but I so want a Sys76 with an AMD GPU.
Uh, Liam, are you going to let him talk about your girl like that? Lol, jk, jk. Couldn't resist. xD

Kingdom Rush Origins is a polished and fun Tower Defense game worth your time

Kingdom Rush has become my defacto for a good basic yet polish Tower Defense game. :) My only issue is that it seems a tab overpriced for what is essentially a mobile port. I think $10 would be more reasonable.

What even more developers think of Valve's Steam Play

Quoting: scaineI was going to say the same thing as Liam - I left Windows gaming behind a) because Windows Updates kicked in at 8pm on a night I'd planned to play and reported that it would be updating for at least an hour and b) because I was sick of constantly downloading drivers, updating them, restarting, only to see the same issue plaguing my game.

So it's interesting that Marc thinks that a sacrifice was necessary to game on Linux. The only sacrifice you realistically make is a reduction in your available catalogue of games. That's huge for most people, of course, but in every other way, I've found the experience of gaming on Linux to be far, far superior than when I used Windows. I'm lucky to have good hardware, so the performance hit isn't noticeable of course, but I no longer have to worry about my drivers (they update automatically as part of my system, without interrupting me, and taking a minute or less, not hours), dealing with DirectX updates, Mono updates, .Net updates whenever I play a game, or installing drivers for gamepads, calibrating them, or random crashes when I alt-tab to the desktop. Or the registry - why does a game need a registry hack to run?? Maybe that's all in the past for Windows users too now - it's been five years, so anything's possible.

And this is all anecdotal of course, but just thought I'd chime in - I don't see much sacrifice here. You couldn't drag me back to Windows.
Very well said. :) The thing that pushed me over the edge was when windows literally decided to reboot itself while I was in the middle of an intense gaming session. I'd been getting ready to switch anyway, but at that point, I was so annoyed, I didn't even let it run the update. I just powered off, and nuked it from my system, never to touch it again.

Damn, 500 keys??? That sounds like they're either crazy generous, or crazy desperate... lol. Either way, I'm always down for a free game. :)

FPS games Tannenberg and Verdun have some improved netcode in the latest update

Quoting: ElvanexHoly crap, thanks dude! =D That fixed it for my AMD card as well. I was just able to play for nearly 2 hours and didnt have a single crash! =D
You're welcome! I'm not sure why this hasn't been more broadly trumpted around their online community. I found this almost by accident in reference to problems with the same engine in a different title. I love Tannenberg so the more players we can get online and playing the better!
Indeed. :) As much as I enjoy fast past shooters like Ballistic Overkill, sometimes I want to play something a bit more tactical. Tannenburg is amazing for that. :) On a side note, while that definitely fixed the crashing issues I was having, I am now constantly getting disconnected from the server. It's annoying, because it usually happens in the middle of an epic 20+ kill streak, and when I rejoin, it resets my stats for the round. It might be because I'm using LTE hotspot from my phone, but no other games have issues with that, so I'm not convinced that's it. Oh well. At least I can play at all now, which is better than I've been able to do for the last few months. :) Thanks again for posting the fix!

I love just about anything Steampunk, and this sounds like a more in depth version of Guns of Iccarus. :) Count me in for sure! :D
