Uh, powersave isn't the default governor, at least it shouldn't be. powersave will run your CPU at the minimum freq.
You want ondemand.

It is for Intel (with intel_pstate), ondemand is the default for AMD.

I always set the governor in performance mode when I'm playing, this is not the only game with such issues.
While my current Intel CPU is not that affected, the former AMD one FX 8370 was really bad at this, the framerate was all over the place on ondemand mode and stuttering all the time.

Technically, I think that really only matters for external porters.

I'm still pretty sure developers will be able to see key activation's from Linux.

There was a comment some time ago that Bundle Stars only had Windows keys for Feral's games, so don't buy theirs, all others should be fair game.
Hey, that's great, thank you for clarifications :)

The recently released The Whispered World Special Edition for example is €1.99 at Bundle Stars, still I'm gonna pass.

Quoting: dubigrasuVulkan is with about 30 FPS faster than OpenGL, but eventually I switched back to OpenGL since vsync on Vulkan doesn't really work.
The current build of Talos is fine and tearless for me on Vulkan with Nvidia's full composition pipeline enabled and the in-game frame limiter set to 60. I didn't really miss vsync. Assuming SS Fusion runs on the same engine, does this not work for you?
Well, it does work but it also adds a periodic slight stutter unfortunately. Is a bit more hard to spot it though when playing with a mouse or a Steam Controller due to more fast movements. But with an gamepad for example I can apply a smooth slow camera rotation and then it becomes very visible. Is like a one frame jump at few seconds intervals.
I do use it when watching Netflix etc, but gave up on it for gaming.
Not sure if is my specific system to blame or I'm just too sensitive to every little glitch, I'll probably need to test it on different hardware/distro to be sure.
Thanks.

I played almost all night without any issue at all, seems pretty solid to me (although I see plenty of issues reported around).
Vulkan is with about 30 FPS faster than OpenGL, but eventually I switched back to OpenGL since vsync on Vulkan doesn't really work.
(I also played few levels from the original Linux port of SS The First Encounter just to see the difference, and to be honest the old version is not as bad as I expected.)

Wine 2.4 released, more Direct3D command stream work towards better performance

Quoting: ShmerlCSMT is a similar idea to what Mesa is doing with threaded dispatch, which probably in practice means, that using them both at the same time won't going to work well.
The same with Nvidia's __GL_THREADED_OPTIMISATIONS.
From the horse's mouth:
They are the same thing in concept. Combining them is like trying to speed up a trip from LA to NY by driving a Ferrari inside the airplane. In general it doesn't do any good, increases latency and causes micro-stuttering.

Edit: Oh, minus the gun of course.

I'll buy it anyway, since is from VP, but what about the game itself?
(I see that despite being so old it is still played today and has very positive reviews.)
