Edit: Anyway, this game cannot be cannon... Didn't Artyom died at the end of Last Light?! :)Spoiler, click me
He certainly did in my playthrough; though I took it to mean that I couldn't gather enough 'karma' (or whatever) to get the best ending. I've heard (where? how? no idea) that in the most bestest optimal ending there's a hint that he may have survived the final onslaught.Spoiler, click me
I must be a pretty bad player, because I have ,at least, 3 playthrough of Last Light and Artyom died in all of them! Lol!
Oh! Didn't know that:

And sure enough, youtube has videos for the good ending, e.g.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09oEe1obN2g [External Link] - though frankly these telepathic 'dark ones' (mutant super-humans?) are my least favorite aspect of the whole series. Together with the flying 'demons'. Otherwise everything else is pretty well grounded and bleak as hell, especially in 2033. I really wonder how the 'open air' setting in Exodus will capture that kind of atmosphere again, because to me that was the standout feature of this series.

Quoting: BrisseAnd again speaking of Metro Exodus. Apparently they have decided last minute before release to ditch Steam and become an Epic Store exclusive. This actually pisses me off 1. because eff exclusives and 2. makes Linux release seem less likely and 3. those stupid enough to pre-order are being screwed over.whoa this is pretty nasty....

Those with outstanding pre-orders will receive Metro Exodus as expected on their store of choice, but publisher Deep Silver are sweetening the deal for Epic Store customers a little by cutting the US dollar price of the game a bit. Annoyingly, Euro and UK prices remain the same.

Dishonored 2 -- hopefully on proton if it doesn't start acting up again.
I really like it, though at normal difficulty it's still a tad too easy. The second game's environments are a lot more detailed (and more Deus Ex-like), though, and that's a big plus.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoRemember that Physx is a feature for a second graphics card. Not in the sense of a requirement, though; maybe as a recommendation. It works just fine on a single card.

Quoting: BrisseSpeaking of Metro, they released the system requirements for Metro Exodus today. Normally I wouldn't care about such event but I did notice it had "Windows" written all over it. :><:dx11 minimum / dx12 'recommended' -- pretty much says it all.

One caveat, though, is whether the game plays out in its entirety at roughly the same level of performance. On proton, I've been playing Dishonored 2 these days, and while the overall performance was great (almost like native, with slightly lower fps & some missing effects) through the first half of the game, the second half took a nosedive, sadly. Suddenly it became a flickering, stuttering mess that keeps crashing.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoLike it was predicted, Metro 2033 REDUX works via Proton 3.16-6 beta with much better performance than the crappy port... with some insignificant light glitches.. But is Platinum.. ... I can't figure how to run the benchmark. How about the bits using physx effects? (Though I can't remember if 2033 had any of those; Last Light certainly did -- only in the windows version.)

Did they bundle an emulator with the 'modern' releases?
In the 'homebrew scene', there are publishers that release games on itch.io (e.g. https://rgcddev.itch.io/) [External Link] ostensibly for 'Windows/Mac/Linux', though they instruct the buyer to go download the emulator on their own. I think there are plenty of other homebrew titles normally released in physical formats or direct downloads for emulators, that deserve to be made visible on GOG as well.

Quoting: dpanterAfter yesterday's client beta update, I got several 0 byte downloads -- but after today's update, it's trying to download the windows-only titles all over again. I *have* restored all my settings.Quoting: SkiskiI've reanabled steam-play for all games after this beta and now, Steam wants to re-download most of my "windows" games. Is there a way to avoid that? Because they are still on my HDD. And that's a lot of Go!Same here, but when I had checked all the settings again and allowed the updates to run, they just completed instantly (similar to the old 0-byte ones) so nothing new was actually downloaded.

As to Vulkan pn the PS5, I wouldn't hold my breath for it. I expect Sony to use their own proprietary even-closer-to-the-bare-metal graphics API, together with their own proprietary tools for the developers.
Also, the choice of FreeBSD as the os most likely has nothing to do with wanting to work in a unixy environment, or FreeBSD's own strengths (networking? jails? ZFS? tidy directory structure and great man pages?), but everything to do with the permissive licensing.
