Fighting game Fantasy Strike adds full cross-platform online play with PC and Consoles

But these anti-mechanical skills people, as lazy as they are, never put their money where their mouth is, and this game and many other games with simplified inputs are struggling to even have some few players online, while other games like BB Crosstag Battle needs a lot of fan service characters to stay alive.
Meanwhile "complicated" Fighting games stay on the spot with a healthy player base, except for Smash which since is a Nintendo thing, it doesn't even need to be good, even their own creators don't care about the competitive scene of the game introducing heavy RNG characters to the roster. It's Nintendo and they can sell crap wrapped in foil and it will still sell millions.
I prefer my "complicated" fighting games on Proton, which so far all of them have worked almost flawlessly.
BTW, Skullgirls was the first fighting game with Native support, much before this game even exists. Also, SKG is a much better fighting game.

Quoting: legluondunetThe first real fighting game that supports natively Linux! I own this game and it deserves to be present on all Linux Gamers hard disk.No thanks, this game is a fraud. I remember pretty well, how Sirlin was talking about how "complicated" inputs were taken people away from fighting games and a vocal minority, most Smash players I guess or people who cant input DPs, were practically screaming their support to this whole idea about mechanical skills being overrated and people should enjoy fighting games with easy inputs and everything should be about "making decisions in the right moment without caring about inputs"

"Prepare for Half-Life: Alyx"
This is what I call a dark sense of humor, knowing Alyx was made only for the 1% of the Steam player base.
Cool to live in the first world, have 500-1000$ to buy a VR headset, while the rest of the world somehow PC gamers have to choose between buying that game on sale or paid food or medical bills.
Nice joke Liam, enjoy Alyx.

This is like receiving human trafficking money for using it to save the environment.
I do use Lutris but whats is funny here is how WINE/Proton/DXVK arent receiving Tim money.
We sure live in a twisted world, it is justified to take money from the same who actually wants to take PC gaming 15 years back?
Have a good day.

Valve are making the Index VR kit available in more countries

These VR owners are just a bunch of 4ssh0l3es(not all of them, some has been very open minded and they know VR isnt for everyone, so Alyx should have a non VR version), they even speak that you arent a "PC gamer" if you dont upgrade your PC every two years. Also they automatically think that if someone doesnt like VR is because they cant afford it.
This has been a cancer since PC gaming exist in the 90s, a handful of people who had plenty of money to spend on the most expensive hardware is always attacking PC gamers that play on laptops and low-mid end hardware, when a game is poorly optimized they blame people for not "upgrading", the worst thing is they are a vocal minority, because Steam surveys show most people play on Laptops and low end PCs, worst of all, VR owners are even less than Linux gamers, but they are behaving right now like if they were an entitled mayority.
VR is expensive, Valve had 4 years to make it affordable but instead of that they prefer to launch an "exclusive" game, Index is their first solo VR product, but one could think that they experience with VIVE would serve Valve to learn that the first step was making VR accessible for most, but they preferred the EGS/Console way.

Quoting: vskye$999.00 is a really hard price to justify, even if I could afford it.Try to say that on Steam forums, their replies goes from "you dont have a job" to "maybe it is time to move to another country".

Some early first impressions of Google Stadia played on Linux
22 Nov 2019 at 6:44 pm UTC
Since Valve locked the only HL official game in 10 years behind really expensive hardware, both PC and VR headset (first world kids speaks about 200$ headsets on Craiglist, Amazon and Ebay, so sad the rest of the world outside of US have to pay taxes and shipping), this is a good chance of Stadia to shine, Stadia offers PC gamers the chance of playing the latest games on any crappy PC, with a crappy keyboard and mouse or controller.
Now according to VR owners, what I need is to get a better job, or not eating something else than rice or bananas so I can get the money to play any new possible Valve game from now.
Good luck with that Valve, I think Stadia has a chance if they put in perspective that people doesnt need to "upgrade their PCs every two years" to play the newest games.

Quoting: fagnerlnI've read some """ journalist """ saying that it was a flop, but for mostly of the early review from my favourite sources is telling very positive things. I bet that Google will improve it soon, adding more feature and games.Because the launch was a flop, what do you expect them to say? Coming from Google you would expect something much better. That is the problem of most readers, they want "journalism" adjusted to their POW, they dont want the true.
The input lag is really impressive, obviously to competitive is bad, but for casual is nice.

Valve really knows how to middle finger their fanbase. Their next game will be exclusive for some new Valve hardware only a few have access, maybe it could be the Valve wheel, Half Life Carting. Or the Valve guitar, Half Life Soundtrack Best hits. Both Valve guitar and Wheel will cost only 1000$ each, quite cheap.

No, thanks.
Quoting: TobiSGDI don't get it. The trailer looks like turn-based combat, the Steam page says real-time combat. Liam, please enlighten me!It looks so Valkyrie Profile, I cant wait. VP you play like a platform game but when you touch an enemy you enter in a traditional RPG game style with combos. This looks pretty much the same.

Valve updates Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for French players to deal with loot boxes

Quoting: KimyrielleI have NO idea why people in this time and age still believe in the "free markets will solve it all" paradigm, when it clearly doesn't and all it has ever done was creating a small group of people having obscene power and even more obscene wealth, while the large rest works double-income and double-jobs and STILL struggle to pay their bills.Cant be more agree, if people still believe in non-regulated markets, it is because they are doing fine and they think if anyone isnt doing fine as them is because they dont make enough effort.

Free games needs monetization to keep running, you cant keep a game alive just by love, this was done just to adapt to ridiculous laws on France. In Japan nobody cant profit beyond 50.000 dollars participating in gaming tournaments because "its gambling" according to Japan law, maybe some people thinks that those "greedy bastards" who practice many hours a week to stay in competitive level deserve such a stupid law.
If people doesnt like lootboxes, dont buy or play games that use loot boxes, this is not a sensitive sector like health, communications or education, this is gaming and people doesnt need to play these "loot boxes videogames" to have a dignified life.
If gaming industry needs regulation is the labor part with many people working a lot of time with ridiculous timelines to finish the job, but no politician is doing anything for it, they just want tax shit to keep stealing public funds.

I really hope the EU will adopt laws soon to categorise lootboxes and similar practices and gambling, and tax all transactions accordingly.
