I've posted this before, but this is the statement from Nixxes (who did the Windows port) about what the sys reqs are meant to give you:
"At minimum spec, which is a HD 7870 2GB or GTX 660 2GB, paired with an Core i3-2100, we aim to give you an average of 30 fps, at 1280*720 resolution, but this is at the low quality preset.I assume in Feral's case it's the same, but with slight differences given what hardware they had in the office to use for testing when they did QA.
"At recommended spec, which is a RX 480 4GB or GTX 970 4GB, paired with an i7-3770K, our target is to offer you 60fps average at 1080p, but at the High quality preset."

I've compared maxed out with very high and there's not much difference graphically. Actually the biggest graphical improvement came from turning off AA since the FXAA implementation is blurry and misses a lot of edges anyway.

Hm, the gyro as mouse-joystick and pad as mouse-joystick case small conflicts with each other which introduces just a bit of stutter so that's right out! But mouse-joystick does work. I ended up changing the sensitivity to 75 for both axis, and I also had to modify the Vertical Friction Scale to be 0 in the steam controller settings or else I had dropped input when using guns.
Additionally the screenshot combo (Steam button + trigger) seems to confuse the game and cause it to think I'm clicking a mouse button, so no screenshots are possible with just the controller.

Nixxes, who handled the PC port of Mankind Divided, have detailed the settings you can expect to run if your rig matches the game's minimum or maximum requirements.

The framerates are only bad on Windows if you enable Contact Hardening Shadows (which is future-tech, and actually slightly broken), and/or MSAA which everyone should know tanks framerates.

Quoting: m2mg2Yep. It swaps input methods instead of allowing them simultaneously. The only workaround is to use Mouse-Joystick and edit the sensitivity in the game's settings.ini if you don't want really slow input. Apparently this actually worked when Mad Max was first released but a patch broke it.Quoting: MblackwellI'm sad that you can't use the mouse and joystick at the same time via the Steam Controller. I had asked Feral and they said the Steam Controller was supported... but that's one of the major features of the controller!I noticed this to. I can't walk and rotate the view at the same, very annoying. We'll not sure if we are talking about the same thing or not. I can't use the right touchpad while moving the left analog on the steam controller in this game.

The DX12 renderer in DXMD isn't really up to snuff. It tends to cause lower performance for most people. Porting the DX11 renderer to an equivalent GL version was probably faster and would still run about as well as could be hoped. Using Metal for Mac was probably a choice due to some necessary extensions not being available and not wanting to increase complexity in the code as the did for Shadow of Mordor (basically faking it with a lot of compute on Mac).
