Nvidia 375.20 stable driver released, increases OpenGL shader cache size and more

I didn't see anything odd when starting up Deus Ex, however I did notice for sure that I can reproduce the reported issue where subsequent GL windows opened simultaneously eventually end up with just a black render. For me it took about 15 or so instances of GLXGEARS.

I got fps hovering around 60 (usually just below if not at) most of the time in-game after the latest Deus Ex patch using a GTX 970. Set the preset to High and don't really bother messing with it. Very High textures and some other settings require VRAM to be above 4gb if you don't want hitching and slow down.

Performance still isn't as high as Windows but it's much more playable than launch.

Alienware manager on Steam Machines lull: Windows 10 changed things

Not sure how Windows 10 alleviated concerns for anyone considering forced upgrades, lock-in to Microsoft services for things like driver distribution, Secureboot changes that effect what OS can be installed and how the system can be modified, and the continued push for UWP and encryption of software that uses it making it a complete black box for users. Top it off with the now unable to be removed spyware (as of Anniversary Update). Win10 made me MORE concerned for the future of PCs not LESS.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided patch release for Linux, enables Breach mode

Setting the game to high it looks like on average performance is around 12-15% less than Windows (at least from numbers I have from websites and forums around its release). Prior to the patch the performance difference was 18-20%. So it's quite a bit smoother, although it would be nice to get it within 10%.

I did some thorough-ish testing using the benchmark and certain scenes and the patch does actually produce a 2-5fps boost under Linux, which starts bringing performance more in line with what Windows was at release (although not necessarily where it is today).

Vsync is absolutely off in my case. In the menus I get 150fps, 1000+ during the intro videos.

Even if it's not officially supported, it's not impossible to do.

Quoting: MblackwellSo I was min/maxing 30-50fps in the benchmarks on High (and hovering around 50 in-game) and the only way to push past was to either set everything to low (and then fps was 45-70), or lower resolution.

Strangely after lowering resolution the game looked almost exactly the same except the UI was blurrier, so I lowered its scale and it's pretty difficult to tell now.
Thanks! Since you run an almost identical system, your results are very interesting to me.
Just so you know I ended up going with 1680x1050. Need to retest, but it seems to be the sweet spot for resolution between getting playable framerates in-game or getting lots of judder/slow-down.

Something is wrong here.... the first scene in the game pretty much no matter what setting it seems stuck at 50fps. It drops lower or a bit higher as I screw around in the menu and exit back to the game but it always ends up back there. Doesn't matter if I change resolution or whatever else. Vsync is off.

I'm running Ubuntu 16.04, i7 4770k @4ghz, 16GB DDR3, GTX 970 SSC (driver 370.28).
