Additionally reading some forums you find out that the benchmark is WAY more demanding than the game.

Quoting: subJudging but what I've read about the hardware requirements and the inefficient renderer, I guess a Linux port will be overly disappointing - performance wise.
But let's see...
Quoting: melkemindThe renderer isn't inefficient... people just keep turning on 8xMSAA and Contact Hardening Shadows (which is kind of future tech and can have visual glitches for some people at this point) and declaring the game broken.Quoting: subJudging but what I've read about the hardware requirements and the inefficient renderer, I guess a Linux port will be overly disappointing - performance wise. That's why I'm hoping they wait on the DirectX 12 version and port to Vulkan (probably wishful thinking though). You're right. If the game requires 8 GB of RAM and an i3 for minimal performance and an i7 and 16 GB of RAM recommended, it might not run at all on most machines using Feral's "IndirectX" OpenGL translator thingamajig.

Feral is definitely doing this one (it's not in-house at SE). Without an announcement I'm sure they can't confirm or deny it however, and who knows when the actual release will be.
Anyway, two things: Human Revolution did run fine under Wine last time I tried it although that was ages ago and it's quite good. Surprisingly the Wii U version is really fun because of the GamePad. Probably my favorite version of the game. It's worth playing if you are willing to part with the cash for a Windows game.
The other thing is that reports of low performance in Mankind Divided seem a bit... overblown? There's a few key settings you can lower or disable with not much graphical difference that will drastically improve framerates. And the game itself seems to look great on the LOW preset.

I only very rarely buy anything that's early access. Even if I'm very interested generally I'll just wishlist it and check back when it's done. It sounds like from the comments here and on Reddit that most people using Linux are the same way.
Total War: WARHAMMER is still coming to Linux, being ported by Feral Interactive

They are still working on Warhammer 40k. At least based on the images on the sidebar in the last Feral newsletter...
I think Mad Max might be next though.

I'd wager the time and QA cost is at issue. Additionally the folks at Feral probably aren't as concerned with performance compared to Windows and are more interested in hitting 60fps on min spec. Any performance above that is gravy, since most users are in fact not concerned with getting 200fps, and only really care about the first 60.
The performance difference only becomes an issue when people do comparison benchmarks.
Not to say we shouldn't strive for high performance, just saying what the deal probably is.

Quoting: manero666Another CPU-DESTROYER port from Feral...Alright but:
I compared with the same pc the native port vs Wine vs Wine Staging
You can find more info on our forum
I'm very sorry to say this, but this port (at this time) adds nothing to what we already had on Linux (with Wine).
I'm not the best person to judge someone else's work because I'm not a "porter" but in my opinion Feral needs to review their port method because the cpu usage is always HUGE, and I encountered this issue also on Grid Autosport and Tomb Raider.
You can enjoy this game if you have a very good cpu, use Wine Staging (Wine Gallium Nine for AMD) if the native port doesn't satisfy you
Anyway great launcher! i liked it a lot
Quoting: leillo197570-80 fps in High Quality with a GTX950-2GB and Intel i5-2500 (3.3GHZx4). A really decent port. Good job, Feral!I checked online and that's about the speed that Windows users were getting with that hardware.
I played about an hour and the game seems to be interesting. I will play it more this weekend

Quoting: Segata SanshiroWith 367.35?Quoting: TacoDeBossRuns at 20 FPS at high settings 1080p on my GTX 1080. Great... Another horrible port by Feral. Ugh.I have ~30 FPS at max settings on my 1070... It must be an issue with the new generation of cards, hopefully it will be patched out.
Madness.
