There is more to value then simple monetary cost...

A PC has endless value to a user, regardless of whatever ridiculous price they pay for one.
(although I'd argue Apple Mac's are indeed a ripoff and of any questionable value, because you can build a same spec PC for much cheaper)

Quoting: EikeComparing a tangible physical object that doesn't need the internet, and someone can't just decide to take it off you at any point in time. Nice...Quoting: TheRiddickIf only Stadia's business model wasn't so toxic and void of any value to the end user. There are better and cheaper options!Like buying a gaming PC?
I'd be interested in that calculation...

I wish Wayland and NVIDIA got along, but they don't really.
I like the idea of wayland even tho its still too early, apparently it could allow freesync to work on multi monitor setups and also within windows (on freesync screens). That would almost put it on par with windows freesync flexibility.

yeah I sent 3 tickets away, maybe get something sorted sometime.
EDIT: Seems its sorted now. Problem was I somehow put a typo in the change email address when I did that a while ago and it never bothered to verify said email and just went ahead and accepted the invalid email as final for some reason.

Been testing Fallout4 recently myself, tho I'm using a custom proton wine5rc4 build (without staging). Mostly been bug testing mod organizer 2 and getting that going well. Still gotta test a new patch for it to work with staging (fingers crossed).
Its funny I was considering trying FO76 but then I heard about the mass hacking of peoples loot plus all the other shitstorms, makes returning to fallout4 a much more attractive offer :)

The first DXVK release of 2020 is here with plenty of D3D9 improvements

I hope once wine5.0 comes out there will be a proton update.
Yeah its good that risen2 was fixed, I had been testing it on and off.
Also there was a major issue getting gothic3 forsaken working but I haven't tested that recently.
I do hope that in the future Steamplay will have a option (tickbox) to enable 32bit steamplay for these quite old games that work best in a 32bit container vs 64bit.

MAN I just got my GOG account stolen. Not sure how it happened because I didn't get notifications about it happening, very weird.
I did however use gog mini galaxy in the last couple weeks but my password could have been stolen over a year ago and just kept in a database until just now when someone decides to steal it. Real bummer.

This might not affect anyone here but there is a nasty regression in wine-staging that breaks a feature in mainline wine when it comes to USVFS and linking DLL files for mods, if you happen to use mod managers.
If you intent to run a modded 64bit Bethesda game, avoid using staging at this time! (or just copy all the mods physically into the game folder, ultra messy but it can work for a smaller number of mods)
