Ultimately I think it will come down to price. People will be comparing this to PS5/XBSX prices and if its double or triple those consoles it may not sell well. Same with the VR headset, if its over 1000usd I think it won't sell as well as VR is already NICHE.

Probably still 1080p.Going to largely come down to the game. But I assume it at least has PROPER access to FSR4? lets hope so.

outside of outliner concerns like the PC system memory upgradability and lower then expected fov on the VR headset, oh and how is pitch black? The biggest question is always price.
Basically it just became a prebuilt PC bundle of rando companies ABC. Certainly didn't help that SteamOS was FAR FAR from ready and Windows was just bad for a gaming machine.
When Steam Machines flopped back then, it was because Proton wasn't ready.Actually it was also because the cost kept going up(or varied); if people remember the steam machine was being made by MANY companies and cost a LOT and also didn't even come with SteamOS most the time, as it was Windows.

The biggest issue I've had with Mangohud is having control of where to place the data on screen.
The normal location assignments don't always work well.
Wish it had a better placement system.

Very exciting time for Indie titles and Godot. I see a lot of quite well performing titles coming out.

Turn based mode does make these games much more accessible for people and also easier since you can be tactical vs just zerg rushing with same combos until you RNG win.
One downside however is combat is drawn out for ages sometimes, normally they let you toggle it on/off depending on the situation.

I think game-pass also loosing its value has contributed.
They have increased prices, changed tier value, and removed games that would use to qualify in the basic tier.
Kind of reminds me of moviepass situation, good at start, but by the end it was a bit meh.

I got a malicious steam chat a few days ago, at first I thought it was a real person and their tag was funny so I said hi.
Then they just started spamming a link to a FREE STEAM GAME... its a fake website that is designed to steal your login and password which I didn't provide, naturally.

I'm not opposed of AI gen being used for voice acting (when done right and not stealing VA) if it means indie games can get full voice going vs just text scroll. However the use of it in art work is very questionable as it tends to spit out the same crap and really isn't needed.
I guess if it was used for texture creation it can also be quite good.
People need to remember that games have been doing procedural generation for a long time before this AI craze and it is very similar sort of thing.
Wish we could identify AI slop more accurately rather then just labelling everything that uses AI in some way somewhere being bad, because it won't be long before all games made use it in some form!
