Most games let you turn off blur, which is good because in the good old days they started to force it on... Human eyes do not see blur like that, its a bit silly. Maybe makes sense for the outer regions in VR.

The Tegra X2 is a 2TFLOP capable GPU/CPU isn't it? shame the switch didn't use that. I hope the Switch 2 tries for 4k support, while Nintendo innovates often, they seem to have a habit of choosing very last gen performing parts.

F1 2017 released for Linux as Feral Interactive’s first Vulkan-only title, here’s a port report

Seems Vulkan is really just used to redirect the DX rendering pipeline rather then it being actually native. Thus 20-30% translation overhead we see.

Also Vulkan/DX12 is MEANT to offload more work to the CPU/Threads. Per thread usage should be lower then DX11/OGL but CPU usage should be higher overall (if the game needs it). Because DX11/OGL often only thrash the first 3 threads of a CPU and ignore the rest.

The first dev-diary for 'Surviving Mars' from Haemimont Games and Paradox is here, looks good

Quoting: PhiladelphusAnyone with a telescope can look at Mars by eye (as I've done, as an astronomer) and verify that it actually is that color. No conspiracy theories needed. :)
And if you look at Earth via a telescope you would think its blue and the surface is blue also. ;)

The Martian surface isn't actually this red, those were/are doctored images by NASA (unknown reasons). No tinfoil, real.

World of Castles, a medieval themed online action-strategy is on Linux, in super early form

A linux version of medieval engineers? seems so. Wonder if it can achieve higher then 20-30fps, unlike those other eng games.
