Hmm, well if it has at least a RX560 equivalent GPU chip in it then it should be a nice middle ground for those who don't want to spend much and also don't want to detach too far away from PC titles. I'm going to assume the online component and MP gameplay will be largely free to access, which would be a good thing.
However there might be some issues getting titles like overwatch running on Linux, but who knows, maybe it will be able to do it. NOT a 4k gaming console at that price, but then again, its all about delivering the software correctly in the end. Linux will be a challenge for them, but MESA is up to snuff and with AMDGPU DRM coming, it will probably do ok.

I thought PPA worked on debian releases?

Going to wait on buying Deus Ex until I get a new 4k high end video card. The FuryX won't cut the mustard, so maybe a 1080TI sometime down the path, probably end up being next year given how the industry is for GPU's atm. IMO VEGA was hugely disappointing for me so I doubt AMD will come up with anything better any time soon.
Arma 3 1.76 for Linux is planned, work on it to start "soon"

The only HUGE issue I found was the texture size problem, which is partly opengl 32 bit issue, and in early days MESA only partially worked (moving too close to landmass would crash game). But both those issues are fixed now I believe.
ATM I'm waiting for video card prices to stabilize, either I get a Vega NANO if the price is right or a 1080Ti MINI. But atm its looking like a XMAS sort of thing due to price hikes on allot of memory prices and stock shortages. BAD time to upgrade, so my Fury X will need to keep chugging on....

Arma 3 for Linux updated to 1.70, it’s now 64bit and solves the texture issue I had

Yeah, am a bit surprised they are continuing with ARMA3. I honestly thought they ditch it by now for a new product like ARMA4 or something. If they do make A4 I hope they can make the physic and netcode work well, also allow for terrain editing such as a voxel based system, that would allow their engine to last for quite some time.
ATM you can't really have caves or tunnels in ARMA3, not unless the entire terrain mesh has a separate model slapped on top, which is not ideal and doesn't allow for easy/seamless map making.

This is great, I was originally at ends with BIS developers but their investment in getting a Linux version done is quite impressive, now that its got 64bit the patches should appear faster. I understand moving from 32 to 64 for Linux would have been why this patch took so long, once its in parity with windows it will open up a HUGE amount of multiplayer potential for linux players.
This is one of those games where you can jump into the map editor and literally just make any game style you want, you can even replicate PUBG to the tee in this game!
I'm just not sure how well ARMA3 works with 64-100 players, it can do it but last time I heard the game still frame-rate caps people to the servers performance level, meaning if the server can only process information at 15fps then that's what people play at, quite nasty. Maybe they fixed that?

Ubuntu launchpad stuff works on Debian fine?
Yeah I might give debian a spin once 4.15 comes about, or AMDGPU DC driver gets pushed to the kernel. In saying that I prefer KDE these days, I have tried XFCE and it gets a little overwhelming to customize.

Quoting: pedrojmartmI play the game on Windows and Linux, but with linux i have a 30-40% performance lost. So, i hope vulkan can reduce the FPS gap between Windows and Linux version.Yep, same, However you will also notice on the Linux/OpenGL render it has ALLOT more low fps dips, like there will be areas where it hits 20fps (even looking in certain directions) or something for no reason.
