This would be neat for getting a encoder card attached to a mini-PC which I would do as a compact stream server, but $250usd is just not something I'd pay for it.
Wonder if I can make my own. I just don't know how exactly things connect to Mini-PC, do they all have a MINI PCIe slot or something on the side?

Probably means they spent a lot of time optimizing their game and including graphical settings that offered good performance for low end hardware.
Honestly that will help anyone with a low end GPU or laptop play this game which appears to be the target audience, not the pro-gamer with a $1000 GPU!

They really need to just start releasing these with a Linux distro and stop this Windows 11 crap!
At least then they can properly support their products, unless the purpose is to just abandon after release...

EA Anti-Cheat arrives for Battlefield 1 breaking it on Steam Deck / Linux

Sure you loose kernel-level-end-user-backdoor'ing, but IMO that is such a terrible policy to have around given all the security breaches as of late.
These are just thoughtless corporations doing thoughtless things as usual.
The first thing you should do when considering any anti-cheat is
1) Will this cause any compatibility problems for customers
2) Will this open us up to legal litigation. (in case of backdoor, yes it can)

Quoting: missingnoThis is why I don't see Proton as a substitute for proper support. Because if they don't actually support the platform, they could break it at any time and say you're outta luck.EAC, BE... all work via proton, it just needs a simple flag set on the AC servers.

Probably a custom lower power version of the AMD Strix Halo APU which I think is coming out soon for use.
As for the VR Headset, I think a ARM could work to run custom Valve software that has BAKED IN steam streaming support to PC (like real good quality) so people can play PCVR at great quality via USB or WiFi6+/7.
Not sure which ARM chips can decode and encode 4k AV1 120fps in real time. I know the Intel ARC GPU's (cheap/lowpower) can but who knows about ARM chips.... (also x264/HVEC is probably good enough since BANDWIDTH is unlikely to be a issue thanks to compression and highspeed wifi7/usb4 we have these days)
Quoting: RandomizedKirbyTree47As to the main topic, I'm quite curious as to whether they go with ARM for the Deck 2.ARM is probably still a few years away from being PERFORMANT under Linux. Which means it performs close to its raw hardware power levels because atm, its real crap, but yes the ARM's technically work under Linux.

Not really sure what the issue is since you can add non-steam games to Steam library and also run them with proton.
Steam purchases now clearly state you're just getting a license not ownership

Has anyone connected a steam deck to a quest-3? Should be doable, that be neat for some laid back nighttime gaming.
