Update your NVIDIA drivers due to multiple security issues found

The AMD 6000 series of GPU's work on kernel 5.10 just fine but allot of nice features for them won't appear until kernel 5.12... THAT is the one downside to open-source, it can take a little while for all the features to be exposed.

I gotta give it to NVIDIA for keeping their driver updated all by themselves, but obviously they have a method of porting code from their windows drivers to Linux which appears to mostly work with a few work around caveats.

I've found updating GPU drivers and MESA to be much easier under Arch based Linux, AUR is a godsend also! The whole PPA Ubuntu random packages method was rather clunky to deal with!

NVIDIA has a 60-70% GPU market share on Windows, not sure what it is under linux, at least according to steam survey.

NVIDIA just needs to release the bios and re-clocking features for (10,20,30 series) Nouveao and then things can get underway for open source NVIDIA. They do not need to release ALL their drivers in open-source form.

Even thought many pro linux users hate nvidia's closed source drivers, this is kind of whats needed for wayland to succeed because like it or not, Nvidia is the most popular GPU today. They set the stage, not AMD. Unfortunately.

CP2077 ran fine with my 6800XT but there were some areas of the game in the city that had nasty fps drops. Also the game has memory leaks so after about 30mins of driving around your frame rate average will drop, if you create a time graph and plot all the data on it you will probably see that cp2077 performance declines as time goes on...

This is not new, many games suffer these sorts of performance issues over time, even some very low graphics games like POE2 Deadfire have major memory leaks.. These issues also exist under Windows 10 btw..

Some people don't notice the issues of performance decline over time because their running at lower resolutions or running DLSS, or for some reason their computer component configuration doesn't cause the issue to be as severe.

Proton Experimental gets Microsoft Flight Simulator VR working on Linux

I recently sold my Quest-2, not like it was ever going to work under Linux anyway. I'll get into VR once something similar to Quest comes out but has Linux compatibility and 150+ FOV.

The DecaGear1 comes VERY close but its FOV is only like 117, which is better then the Q2 but still I won't dive into VR again until 150 FOV or above is the standard. (not interested in the overpriced headsets like Pimax or Index).

Also I love inside out tracking, just a great idea vs mounting radar shit all around your room and still getting tracking issues!

I tried it out and had odd issues with apps like Skype having displaced click zones for the trayicons, possibly other apps also were affected. The actual click zone ended up being over half my START/APPS icon which was annoying, lol.

Also the fractional scaling option causes blurring, you need to use specific values in Font DPI..

Shame this couldn't sell for $99usd or something, I think it would actually be quite a success at that price point, but at the price point just short of next-gen consoles, its a bit much. I'd rather buy a Nvidia Shield TV box.
