Not my type of game, but I understand why its popular. I'm more into stuff like BG3/PathFinder(not survival obviously) and more unique and realistic takes on survival rpgs. There isn't many that fit that bill unfortunately.

I wonder if there is any improvements for the windows version. Lots of people were complaining that this vulkan update was much slower then dx9/11 whatever it was before.

From past observations of these kinds of laptop things, is that the parts end up costing way too much and it would be allot cheaper to just buy a laptop without upgrades in mind except the usual stuff.
Also no AMD CPU is a bit sad given Intel CPU's generally consume more power.

Was trying wayland there. Still no universal monitor gamma control (there is basic support but needs sway or other compositors).
People on gnome or plasma for example who don't want to switch to tiling or some experimental compositor cannot change gamma.
Additionally I notice with plasma wayland the window rules system seems to be broken, it won't remember position correctly even if you set a global rule, it seems to behave differently then X11 where I set a exact window title global rule and everything just remembers position and size without too much issue.
Also had a issue with firefox not being accessible while a fullscreen app/game was open and minimized. But I think there is a Xwayland specific flag you can launch firefox with to work around that. Still, lots of annoying issues still (on top of already X11 feature limits).
Until issues like this get resolved, I won't be touching wayland. If they never get resolved.. well that will be very bad because normal desktop users are not going to tolerate that BS. (I consider myself an advanced desktop user (not tiling), I can work around issues even use custom builds of apps to resolve issues, but its a pain in the butt really!)

Probably need to buy this at some stage to support a Linux developer. But its not really my type of game, but might be interesting if modding comes into the picture. Does anyone know if modding sdk will be a thing?
Yes it be nice if more developers just made their games on Linux because getting them running under windows is far less of a issue vs the other way around (OpenGL performance can be a concern for some games if they decide to go that route).

I would like them to work on free-sync/variable refresh rate tech under Wayland so it can be used in a window, and in a dual monitor environment where one monitor is not a free-sync monitor.
Basically allow free-sync to work freely in a screen-space env just like how it works under windows.
That would be nice. Windows has had a huge advantage with dual monitor/higher bit rates/freesync stuff for a long time now. While it can work under Linux it has glitches and restrictions that make it almost not worthwhile.

I think to get wayland going on NVIDIA you need the EGLStreams package. I see it there in the arch repo.
Wayland has too many annoyances for me even with my 6800XT.
I've got use to the issues with X11 window system, to use wayland you get a whole new set slapped on top.
Also there isn't yet any advantage, there is promise of benefits, but none atm!
