War Thunder gets a huge upgrade along with Vulkan by default on Linux (updated)

yeah I've tried that trick before but it always ends in problems, missing controls, sound, or freezes on switching back to desktop... all sorts of things. Haven't tried it in a while however so I might give it a shot now.

Ahh, it works now it seems. Sound plays in background but that's ok.

EDIT: tabbing back to TTY1 crashes the warthunder game. Ell well.

AMD Radeon RX 6800 and the RX 6800 XT are out today

Have a 6800XT on pre-order (was only option). Who knows if it will be for-filled... They took my money non the less.

I would also like to point out that the reported clock rates are not correct when people saying they can overclock to the moon.

This same issue happened a fair while back with older AMD cards where they would say whatever high clock but perform the same or worse then stock.

3 Issues atm that seem to be annoying most.

1) Recent update broke smoke transparency.
2) Many compositors cause black screen like xfwm/kwin, sometimes using wayland can help. (or stay on gnome).
3) Vsync causes input latency issues, possible bad implementation. Be nice if a FPS limiter was an alternative option!

I've got Overgrowth, its like 24GB download or something which is odd as it feels like quite a small game. Just has small levels joined together for the story, mostly empty levels also. No voice either.

Its a fun little combat game with fun jump mechanics, but really makes you wonder why its 24GB.

Played a little bit of Dying Light, had some odd issue where windowed mode was giving better fps then fullscreen, unfortunately game does not have borderless window mode.

Largely I'm waiting for the 6800XT before diving back into my game collection. Need moar frames!

Curious, does RTX features work in these games like Metro? or is that beyond vkd3d?

Stuff like this and vkbasalt can cause freezing and crashing in some games like WarThunder for example. It COULD be a NVIDIA driver issue (1080TI) but has been a problem for quite a while now.

Not all games have this issue, just some.

cybernetic implants are quite expensive for the functional ones. You can bootleg 3d print your own, but its far from amazing like in CP2077 where people are punching through walls.

I think I saw a girl get a arm implant from a company, it was $70k, and that is low tech stuff today.
