In the past I also tried Heroic Games Launcher, but the GOG games had so many issues (for example not finding gamepad, even when the game supported it) I just gave up on using it on Steam Deck.In the past I've made sure to WIRE up the gamepad to the Plasma KDE system which has a gamepad section in settings, and THEN all games detected just fine. If you rely on proton to do it all for you, then perhaps that's the issue.

I hope this kernel level anticheat stuff goes away overtime and we get something that uses LLMs instead, which can be done mostly server-side too.

I know a lot of people use Mint so if they can double down and speed along the development of wayland support the better.

Not really interested in XR glasses atm.
If they get real good, then perhaps, but everything I have seen so far does not impress, you get a little LCD panel glued into some glasses and limited tracking and functionality.
I think its cool also for productivity or desktop work, even watching videos while doing work etc... BUT I see no real use case for gaming overall, the image quality is just not going to be good enough due to technology limits.

This is going to stop nobody.
Hell these days a lot of parents will give their kids a debit card with a tiny bit on money on it in case of an emergency or lunch money!
UK will probably ask for DNA verification next! Please wait while we decode your RNA strains... lol

CachyOS has been getting better all the time. Initially when I first tried it way back late last year I wasn't overly impressed and moved to EndeavourOS, but I have since moved back to CachyOS.
I'd say its probably the best NVIDIA supported Distro around atm. If you run AMD its also great but obviously so is many others, but not many really fine tune their distro to run well with NVIDIA like CACHY does.

Valve should just do a CLI API that forgo's all UI GUI functionality. Much like how Legendary can launch epic games without anything but command line arguments.
