...Valve has long-term plans that have yet to become obvious.
I sometimes feel like Valves long-term plan have yet to become obvious to themselves. Not that I'm complaining, its great to see them invest in linux!

This is good news, some of the performance gap between linux and windows can be attributed to game specific driver optimization. While this isn't quite the same thing, having the game devs directly submitting patches can only have a positive impact on game performance.

Shadow of Mordor on AMD Ryzen CPU suffers from a performance hit due to non-optimal thread scheduling

Quoting: EhvisIs this really necessary on a 4 core Ryzen? I would have thought they'd use only one CCX on that one. That would actually have been the big advantage.
I agree, the lower core count Ryzen's seem a little less attractive because of this design. Although I suppose it depends on the workload, and I would assume future game titles may optimize for this better.

Valve have three new VR games in development

VR is definitely not a gimmick. There are some really compelling use cases beyond gaming, and a small handful of games that are just awesome.

Having said that we need 2nd gen hardware IMO. The resolution is just a little to low, if they can bump the resolution to eliminate the screen door effect VR will truly be awesome. I sold my Vive and will wait for the resolution bump before getting back into VR.

The story of grey market G2A worsens, I really do recommend to stay away

I'm with Colombo on this one. I just sold some old PC hardware on eBay and at no point did anyone verify my product was real or in the condition I claimed it was. They did however hold on to my cash for a waiting period to allow the buyer to receive the goods and verify it arrived as expected. This process seems no different on G2A.

SteamVR support for Linux looks like it's getting close
14 Jan 2017 at 4:53 pm UTC

Mmm, VR is one of the few things that keeps a windows install running on my setup. Would be nice to get it going on linux.

Although for those not allready bought in, I think its better to wait. The next iteration of VR hardware is probably not that far out. If they can put something out with higher resolution it will make VR gaming sooooo much better.

Exclusive: Civilization VI now fully confirmed to be coming for SteamOS & Linux and soon too

I hope performance is close to its windows counterpart, its acceptable on Mac but certainly not great. :(

Evolution fell in the clunky and unreliable category. Its not a bad client, but exchange functionality has never been solid. The exchange plugins tend to have weird issues, missing emails or random errors, and I just tested it on the latest version of ubuntu and the client straight up crashes when using exchange web services.
