Quoting: michabut the issue is: people will just install windows on it.No, they won't. Not by a tangible number. That is way too "complicated" for most users in 2021. They have a device with a pre-installed shiny working frontend and - say - 80% of their games working. For the extra 20% which might work you have to prepare boot media, drivers, put up with no frontend designed for the device and still can't be sure whether everything will run smoothly.

Quoting: subYes. It is called SD Card.Quoting: GuestWin 11 on Steam deck 64BG version...I mean there must be an option to attach some (yeah, rather slow) USB3 stick/HDD to it with a Steam collection anyhow.
No, no possible (ok its possible but no free space for any game left)
64 Gb won't get you far even with a slim Linux distro.

Quoting: dubigrasuI hope they'll put up also a polished installer for the new SteamOS 3.0.Why would they? Most Windows users never ever install an OS at all - that's something for the Linux crowd. In addition setting up Windows on such a fully integrated device is far from "super easy, barely an inconvenience" while OTOH you already have a shiny nice frontend running which serves the purpose perfectly. After all we are talking about a console.
I can easily imagine that many will just strip SteamOS out of it and install Windows, but at the same time others might be impressed with SteamOS and tempted to install on their PC.

Quoting: AppelsinLast time I checked Luxembourg was still part of the European Union. Did they leave in silence?Currently it's limited to United States, Canada, European Union, and the United Kingdom with more regions becoming available in 2022.Nothing for Norway then (or Switzerland, or Iceland or Luxemburg)? Or is this just a ploy to make us join the EU?

Quoting: DoomsdayrsI have been playing WT for years now, but I rarely do top tier and prefer the mid-tier encounters instead. Way less frustrating, way more varied gameplay. I find it much more enjoyable to try out all the different nations.Quoting: scaineI wonder if this is like Overload, where the native game just wants to launch on the monitor and ignores my Index. But if I switch the game to force Proton, then VR suddenly jumps into life.I am at level 100, I have maxed out my main tree and slowly working on top tier grind. There is no end in sight. Every time they add a new vehicle I need to grind more.
War Thunder is a great game, but it's pretty overwhelming. One of those games you really need to invest in to get the best out of it, I think.
Invest time to Invest more time for a minute of good fun. Truly a hell of it's own

Quoting: JuliusYou can actually run something like that yourself with this awesome Retroarch based open-source software: https://github.com/giongto35/cloud-game [External Link]And you have all the games bought previously? I am pretty sure, that the majority of my MAME games are not licensed. (Though some are.)

Quoting: furaxhornyxI am also not fond of the compact-style keyboards: no numpad, strange arrangement of del/end/page up, all top keys (escape, F1-F12) are all clustered together... I'll pass :tongue:My HP and Lenovo laptops both come with illuminated keys which are perfectly readable without lighting, too. On the desktop I now have a Sharkoon Skiller Mech - with turned off lighting the keys are still legible, but contrast could be better. So: It's feasible. And at this price point I can expect that they put in some effort. Simple solution: Offer optional keys with transparent labels.
Quoting: TuxeeLED lighting that doesn't illuminate the key labels? Sorry, but that must be the most idiotic design decision ever...Yes and no... I have a spare keyboard which has RGB lighting. The thing is, the backlighting is quite strong, and can only be changed in color, or turned off. Problem: when turned off, the printings on the keys become invisible, and you can no longer see which key you are typing on. At least System76 design allows for turning the (annoying) RGB off, without making your keyboard unreadable.
