I can picture myself flying up the stairs, three steps at a time, with a tablet to keep myself alive in Insurgency, so I can get a snack.

I'll read this little article in a year or so after I play the prequel... woe is me, I can't keep up. (First world problems.)

My wife had a MBP for quite a few years and I bought her a Gazelle to replace it. I would have liked to buy her another MBP but they are stupid now for what you pay. The Gazelle leaves some to be desired in the looks and feels departments. It's not beautiful and it feels utilitarian. But you know what? I saved $1,500 by buying the System76 instead of Apple.

It turns out, however, that many cyber cafes manage their hardware in a way that was causing their customers to be over counted.Deep Freeze?

I have this installed and mean to play it sometime. It surely looks up my alley.
Wesnoth is actually part of the Arch repository. I wouldn't be surprised if it's in other distributions as well.

Black Geyser is an interesting-looking RPG that’s being crowdfunded

I think of greed as "I want more than you have" whereas "I want more than I have" is not always evil.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyCapitalism is just the only system to actually base itself on greed as the main virtue (although most actual humans aren't really very virtuous by our society's standards).I can't agree with this. I could be brain washed, but I don't think greed is a necessary component of capitalism. It was supposed to be more effort equals more reward, however that relationship doesn't scale linearly.

Haven't read the entire KS page, but I like everything I've seen about this game so far. I really like the idea of greed being the curse. Greed is not inherent with capitalism but it's certainly a potential side effect.
The first backer build of strategy game Phoenix Point from the creator of X-COM is due soon

This is my concern. I didn't have fun during the base building segments in XCOM. So, when I got to a battle mission that I couldn't beat, I had no desire to throw away an hour+ by loading an older save point. In fact, I think I own XCOM 2 from a Humble Bundle but I have like 5% interest in playing it.
But I do like turn-based tactics. I am a fanboy of Fire Emblem and I play with perma-death because I'm willing to restart a long battle if I lose a character. I just didn't find the HQ parts of XCOM fun at all.
