The only reason I don't have the Heroic Launcher is because it's another store to manage. It's great for Linux gamers to be at the same point that Windows gamers have been at, where you have game launcher overload. I'd say it's the main reason I don't have any games installed from the Epic store even though they release free games that you can get working with Wine / Proton. It's like I'm at capacity for this kind of stuff: Steam native, Proton, Lutris, Battle.net, Origin, minigalaxy, itch.io... I'm happy that the Heroic Launcher is available for those that want to use it. :)

I tested installing and running with a Kubernetes cluster based on snapd a few times a few years ago. It worked eventually, but it was harder to do operational work like making changes. That's my main experience with snapd. Pretty off-topic for this news article though.
I still haven't tried Unvanquished....

Quoting: CaenthThe only reason game companies chase streaming is because of piracy and consoles being too expensive.Only reason? I'd say it's because they can get more profit out of a subscription model, following other streaming media providers like Netflix and Hulu. You never stop paying for it. Plus, they can nab the customers that only want to subscribe for a few months or a year or two who would not invest $600 into a console. So they should get more casuals that wouldn't have considered it otherwise.

After I had a problem getting a refund on a game I purchased from a 3rd party, I'm pretty leery to buy Steam keys outside of the Steam store itself. I don't return games much at all, but this one didn't even work on my computer. So when I buy Steam games on Humble, I only do so after accepting the risk.

The fact that it's hard to tell the difference is a win for those who turn down the render quality for performance reasons. Pretty cool.

I've only played one session of this game with a friend so far. It was decently fun but didn't put enough time into it to get to the unique pieces of the game like dungeons and bosses. I don't feel too bad for letting it bake though.

Aww man, it was just a couple days ago that I looked at my Steam wish list and was fooled by the release day. I thought the game was going to be done on August 5th! Dangit. Well... I'm glad for the milestone of entering Early Access. I read their EA blurb on Steam and it sounded like they're going to do what Satisfactory is doing, which is remain in EA for a really long time. I feel conflicted about that as a consumer. I don't know when's a good time to jump in. On the other hand, I want to buy the game since it's pretty low priced and the developers are encouraged.
