Quoting: liamdaweJust tried that myself to see, same issue sadlyI've noticed that my failed-launch crash dumps all have exceptions in network code from one of Paradox's libraries. If I disable my network card in Network Manager the game seems to launch from the launcher every time. Does that work on your machine?

Quoting: liamdaweI wonder if it's an issue with a later NVIDIA driver or later GPU models then in that case. The 396 driver is pretty old now though...FWIW, I've tried with the 418 driver and it is much worse. The game doesn't run from the Paradox Launcher. I have to go into the game binary directory and run
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./imperator to make it into the game. It still crashes in November, though.

As Liam says in the article, it looks as if there are various bugs affecting all platforms, with some people being affected and some not. I'm not sure it matters whether you're on Linux or Windows, Steam or GoG, AMD or nVidia, or mega-rig or potato.
I'm getting bitten by the last one. I'm only seeing minor stuttering on my potato. The game looks awesome in the tutorial videos but I'd advise against purchase until it has been patched.
- crash to desktop on launch
- black screen on launch
- stuck zoom level
- stuttering on day change
- stuttering on scrolling
- hard lock-up in November

Quoting: liamdaweI'm running the 396 driver on KDE Neon 18.04.Quoting: mcphailIt launches and runs from the Paradox Launcher on my machine with an old GTX650. The music stutters when the screen scrolls or updates, though, and I'm here because the game just locked up half way through the tutorial! You're the first NVIDIA user to say it works, is this on the proprietary driver or the open source driver?

Quoting: Modding-OpenMW-dot-comThanks so much for linking to my site! As a Linux gamer myself it's cool to see a mention pop up here.Your site looks fantastic. I think I'm going to be getting lost in Morrowind again!
The site is heavily inspired by the original STEP guide, which at the time wasn't really focused on OpenMW if at all. DassiD continues to do great work with the Morrowind Graphics Guide [External Link].

Sounds like it may be time to download our GOG libraries "just in case", ladies and gentlemen. DRM-free won't count for much if they go bust and we can't access our games.

For me, the app on my Android TV seems to have more input lag than the Steam Link. I was hoping to bin the Link to get rid of some wires, but have ended up persevering. I hope they continue to support it in some way.

I agree that some of the dlc had become a bit niche. This one sounds much more fun. Thanks for the excellent review.
