With that said, a lot of those limits weren't so much about restricting buyers, but rather restricting scalpers who would buy cheap keys from another region and then sell them on third-party websites.

Though, I can't say I agree with the filtering/limits. I do understand the reasoning.

Typical behaviour in my opinion. This is a good example of why it is never good to wholly depend on one entity for your business.

This is the usual case of the larger entity which everyone has become to depend on thinking "Well, everyone needs us now. We shall ramp up our prices and earn more money, they can't do anything about it anyway!". (Swapping out game engines is a big task)

It is also why I personally felt it was a mistake for CDPR to switch to unity from their own engine (Red Engine), for precisely this reason.

I mean that absolutely building your own engine is hard, it is a lot of work and it takes a lot of maintenance, without a doubt. But it is better than being tied to another business in such a way that your entire product depends on them.

I guess I'm just old at this point, where we wanted things our way and not dependant on another entity.

I've mostly got my KDE comfortable again on my gentoo after switching from opensuse, reading this, I'm glad I went the wayland route with my setup on one hand, on the other hand it's "Oh man, I just got v5.27 running nicely and properly configured :-/"

In all seriousness though, I'm happy to see wayland being pushed more now! In my experience it's been rock solid, and I haven't regretting switching to it a couple of years ago one bit. :grin:

God damn it. You know, I had a strong dislike for Sony after my past PS3 era experience with them. I vowed to never give them my money again.

And now they go bringing all these old franchises I love to PC and therefore also to Linux... which makes my wallet open. That's not cool Sony not cool!

I can't believe I am giving Sony money again :unsure:

Though, I have accepted lately though that I have a game buying addiction problem (across multiple stores) so I am trying to put a stop to that :neutral:
