Likely not as that was why they "changed" things in the first place. Article seemed to focus on the update but I am curios; might be an EU thing.

Either way, they've earned my money more than once...I think I might just go ahead and get it for the switch.
That's a shame. I thought they could set a precedent in the industry, in terms of values, politics and quality, but if due to success they already change and become/create another normal company more...

Of course, that doesn't mean they have earned their money or that the games they'll release will be worst :)

EVERSPACE 2 announced, with more of a focus on exploration and it will release for Linux

Awesome! The first is a great game, which I'm terrible at, but the changes to an open-world space with more exploration as story seem to me like the kind of change I was hoping for. I might back it on Kickstarter actually :D

Quoting: liamdaweAlso, sorry for the delay everyone. Yesterday was my 31st birthday so I took a rare 100% day off, I'm in catch-up mode now.
Happy bday Liam! It seems yesterday Valve gave you some nice gifts to play with :)

Oh la la! What an update! It's crazy to see the amount of new features that have been introduced with this new version. Hopefully tonight I can try some games and test it.

Thanks to everyone, and Valve, for doing this effort.

"... lurking in the murky waters of Pilsen."

Considering how good is the beer from Pilsen, I can guess that Laura Silver is successful at removing the creature and cleaning its waters :P

The aesthetics look cute, and the idea of mixing garbage and fantasy are quite unique. It does look amazing, wish them all the best of lucks!

Epic Games' Tim Sweeney talks Linux and gaming some more, says Linux is "great"

Quoting: Tim SweeneyDoes this mean ever game developer has an obligation to release their game on every store? No, it’s their creative work, and they have a right to choose how to distribute it. That includes the right to negotiate store terms and reject stores that don’t pay them adequately."
I have never met a single artist, be it a developer, musician, etc, that would like their creative work to be released only on one platform potentially leaving millions without enjoying it. It's not the developers/artists that choose their work to be released in one store, but the vultures above them that agree on terms with those stores to get an specific economic deal. Ultimately, investors and upper management aren't interested in how many people enjoy their employees art but in how much influx of money there is in their arks.

So, whilst generally agreeing with Sweeney's comments, there is also a bit of bullshit in them.

Quoting: ArehandoroYes, of course, it would have to be Testing or sid.
Testing and Sid usually have up to date Mesa and kernel, so I don't think Debian need to do anything special about it. The only exception are freeze periods (one just has ended), and in such case you better build the kernel and Mesa yourself or install whatever is uploaded to experimental. May be providing Mesa and kernel in experimental more consistently during the freeze could be useful.

What would be an improvement, is if Mesa would make more frequent releases. Current release cycle is way too long.
Well, not really. Debian sid is still on the kernel 4.19 and on my Arch build in my home desktop I was using 5.0 well before the freeze started. Mesa I think is on 19.0 in sid whilst 19.2 on Arch, probably 19.1 before the freeze.
