Fun Steam Deck Verified & Playable games from October 2022

Cultic "But Wait There Is More" is more than just inspired by blood.

That's what make it good. It doesn't imitate, it play on the strengths other figured out but amp them up.

One of the greatest boomer shooter out there, no doubt.

Unlike something like Fortune's Run, it may even not use more buttons that the deck provide.

Dark Reign: The Future of War, a true classic RTS is being remade in OpenRA

Holy, that's a throwback.

I never played it, but I remember the cover and well, at home we did have SC/WC/C&C/C&C:RA (even warwind and others), but this cover from the magazines and shops...

Well, may have well try it now.

Humble have a nice list of classics in the RPG Legends bundle

Quoting: slaapliedjeI believe there is a way with at least BG1 to make it turn based combat, which works much better playing multiplayer than the realtime w/pause.
Played way back with Real Time with pause, doesn't bother me either way. Could already pretty much force full turn based combat with settings.

Quoting: slaapliedjeSeriously have to ask... how is it that Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition is verified, but the others that use the same engine are marked as Playable.
IIRC they aren't on the same version of the engine, but to double check that, one will most likely have to dig the Beamdog forum.

Did they released the multiplayer tho? I didn't checked in a while.

I discovered it when the topic of ligne claire [External Link] was raised on Fortune's Run's Discord.

It seems to be in a weird-ish niche that has some nice appeal to me. I just hope the devs manage to get some really good performances out of this. It seems to be the kind of game where it's possible to do so (small-ish spaces, the artstyle allow to cheat on a lot of this and avoid those heavy computation, etc).

Is the autoaim mandatory? I'd rather fuck up 80% of my shots first over feeling forced to have that.

Dead Cells price hike in Argentina & Turkey due to cross-region purchases

Quoting: pb> "this is impacting us so heavily"

ok, but what if people who go to such extreme measures are from other poor countries that *don't* have regional pricing and instead are paying "regular" prices in usd or euro? and it's their only realistic alternative to just pirating the game?
Let's be honest here, it's not what's happening : if only people that wouldn't be able to afford them in their own region pricing did that, devs wouldn't do that. They wouldn't see a ×3 or ×4 the playerbase of that region.

Mesh that with sales, and I'm even starting to doubt we would see much higher than a ×2 (like ×2.something, OK I guess).

Another thing to note, is that, an history of devs' comments would point out that pirating the game ends up a lesser evil of just blatantly ripping off the devs, be it that way or worst the G2A way.

But knowing this history and people I know that aren't as much gameheads as I am, they will do that to pay less over paying what they can. Sure, there is a tiny bit less rip off here as it's not going G2A way. But the whole thing mostly sit on the terrible fucking shitty idea that people want games dirt cheap.

At least piracy may get you to buy it full price later, buying it 90% off by region abuse is just shitting in the cook pot of vidya. Because it's not just the dev that's getting screwed.

Games are already underpriced as hell (considering the amount of manhours put into those), and the market saturation doesn't help in anyway, but lowballing the price in everyway possible by all the people that can afford them (already underpriced) only push a cheaper price to grab more attention, to do so costs are cut and the whole quality suffer, so people want to pay less and so fucking on.

Truth to the matter is : broke people aren't the issue here.

Tempest Rising looks like the RTS I've been waiting for

Wait a second, we have a GDF uplink being established ?

"Strong as they may be, they are still flesh and bone"

Are we getting a RTS set into the retro boomer shooter (build engine) universe of IonFury ?

Obviously I may read way too much into this, but... The GDF font looks really like Ion Fury's it's made by the IP owners, I don't know.

I mean I'm absolutely up for it. But if it mean even more ham Ion Fury material, I'm all for it.

Humble Bundle have another interesting set of games in the Tactical Combat Bundle

Brigador Deluxe Edition should ship with the OST, which is an amazing 4×LP OST. It's a great OST. You also get the audiobook which is in a weird place, it's really a great thing if you enjoy the univers, but don't really will bring you in it itself.

Verdun is very fine, but it also suffer from several aspect of squad based realistic FPS, mainly, it's _really_ better to play with friends / regular mates, as you can actually work something out.

I'd advise to pick it up if you are remotely interested in Brigador + any of the game in this bundle.

So let's go commit some war crimes and chill.

Damn, now I want to rerun some of Brigador's maps.

If you aren't sure / convinced, Mandalore Gaming as a neat review of Brigador.

EDIT: What the hell am I writing, fixed suffer => sure...

W4 Games formed to help developers using Godot Engine
11 Aug 2022 at 7:37 pm UTC

On the whole other "will they provide back" thing, while I'm very much annoyed by the same points Valck noted (ie being an Irish company), I would believe in both reduz and Akien. I don't know the two others, but I've been following Godot since it's first open-source release, and I'm not convinced playing that kind of long game, considering the work put into the whole thing, is healthy to just find a way to not contribute back what they can do with W4 Games.

Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

Quoting: elmapul111 milions units, but the major issue is: no signal of slowing down, despite steam deck being announced/launched.
either people dont know what the device is capable of, or dont care, or simply valve isnt marketing it enough, in case its a bad sign.
I don't know about that.

Let's be clear, Nintendo has a strong grip on the market, combine it with their way of advertising. They are targeting wide and have a portfolio to back up they do a good job at giving good games fit to every kind of demographics they go after.

I wouldn't hold my breath at steam wrestling a large share early on. On the other hand, while I'm very interested by Steam Deck, I think it falls in that weird spot between the Switch and something like the PlayStation, without giving that same plug and play vibe or something.

Thanks for the link tho, I'll try to consult it every now and then.

No need to wait on Valve, the Steam Deck Docking Station from JSAUX is great

$50 for a dock?

I need to check out the delivery fee, but sounds like a good way to get one.

Tho my deck isn't delivered yet, but that's good to have a not so expensive choice here.
