I will likely never play this game.
But hey, that's good. If WB Games did the check internally, it looks rather good for the Steam Deck.

Remember to support the projects you use and appreciate

But thanks to PublicNuisance reminder, guess I'll go the way of putting aside a fixed amount per mounth.

Quoting: PublicNuisanceIt can be very easy if you break it down into small bits. Every pay cheque I try to put aside $20 to donate to a project I use. $20 doesn't seem like much but at the end of the year it adds up to $1040 into the FOSS ecosystem. Even if you did $5 a week it adds $260 a year. Can you imagine if every Linux gamer gave just $1 year to something ? The total amount going into FOSS projects would be in the millions. Most FOSS projects donation pages are depressing if they show public results. We can and should do better. Not sure the maths checks out for millions, but a real big bunch of money still. While many users are free riding and it's a bit of an issue (let's be honest, even $5 a month can be done, but it has to be figured out how to explain it and put it in front of people...), it's nowhere near what companies do.
Quoting: liamThey were fed up of "Fortune 500s ( and other smaller sized companies )" using their work without supporting it.This. Like the company I work at, we are bound by contract so that we can't even commit to a project if it's supposed to be used in the company (so the way around is commit back to a project, wait for it a few years and then see it at some points being updated in our systems, which is super dumb, and it's likely to not be legal anyway considering french laws, but I'm not a lawyer.)

Trailer seems neat, I'll look forward for this, I haven't had a platformer that click that well for a while now.
Quoting: hardpenguinHere is the Trial game engine which uses Common Lisp programming language: https://github.com/Shirakumo/trial [External Link]Thanks for the link, skimming throught their website, they do a lot of Common Lisp. I'll dig that, I've always been curious about the whole Lisp family.

I wasn't interested in The Shiva or Blackwell series (Blackwell series just isn't my jam, I'm not a fan of ghost stories, but I know I should try it).
On the other hand, Primordia and Gemini Rue are both good enough for 10€, now consider everything else as extras, including Strangeland (which is making me very curious)
And let's be clear, something like Gemini Rue has some big issues (gunfight or plot wise), but it's still a fine game, which doesn't overstay their welcome.
Strangeland seems pretty dope, guess I'll grab the bundle for that.

System Shock remake due to release in March

Some theories say March is the end of their fiscal year, so it's basically after it that we will know if they drop it or not.
I don't know, tho, and I really really wish it isn't the case and we will see a release happen.
Hell, I'd be down for a dirty release if it meant to have it out, and them roadmapping it through a year or so. Considering my usual stance on that way to do things, I really want it.

But on the other hand, it's also for me the staple of the issue with TES games, and Fallout games made by bethesda: they aren't _bad_, but you have more fun that way than playing the actual story of the game. Hell some DLCs make since worst story wise, so people enable then since it help mechanics then never touch them.
We definitely need more single player games with a focus on being something you can pick up and chill in it.
If the game is as the video point to, well... I guess I'll skip it.

Quoting: LiamIt's one thing to give you skins like CS:GO, it's another for people to actually see their own skin while running aroundI may be a minority, but I favor for this FPS with full body existing. Think of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, or Thief games. I'm even OK for a photo mode and that kind of thing to have those views people like, but this is mostly a matter of taste. I guess in a way something like Darktide land on a nice spot : TPS for hub and FPS for the game itself.
Quoting: ThetargosOne key aspect that, in my opinion, set the TES games appart (in that they tend to provide all those elements, and leave the player decide what to do, hell I know people that loads Skyrim only to 'visit' and relax). While I do think having some heavy grind in a game is a pain, with games like Baldur's Gate or Final Fantasy IX, some farm can be fine, it's just a matter of dosing. Now the day-gated things to force people to comeback every days, with FOMO, this is some cancerous shit.

Back a few years, I remember saying to a friend how great the bundles were and how I wasn't pirating anymore.
Now that I have the real data hoarding capacities I wished for, I guess the seas are calling back.

Quoting: BlackBloodRum"What's the problem with always online DRM?" "It doesn't really affect me, I can still play my games just fine!"I'd offer this interesting, and maybe more accessible take on the issue [External Link]. Do note I don't dismiss the point of the FSF or DBD (I still need to add the DBD sticker to my minifree laptop, to give you an idea of my view on it), but it's more accessible to people. "You are being scammed" is more telling than "you may, at some point once the game isn't profitable enough anymore, be screwed". It doesn't address all DRM issues, but at least the always online part.

XCOM games are neat overall (well, fuck enforcer, and Chimera is kinda meh -definitely a decent game, but not really XCOM for me-, but I'd advise to look into the free engine and get UFO Defense and Terror From The Depth from GOG then (about $3 for both right now).
A few of those aren't really sellers for me either : Civ6 may be good, but between the DLC and the fact I was never a Civ fan. Borderlands 3 is more of the same and if you don't have friends to play with it, several trees may just be not viable (Borderlands 1 & 2 experience tho, I could be wrong)
The Mafia definitive edition and The Bioshock one are Gold rated on Proton, tho the reports point at 30FPS and low battery life on Steam Deck.
Army Men RTS was a dream of me younger, but I guess I'd rather look onto GOG for it.
Duke Nukem Forever just shouldn't even be there. The fact 2K tries still to make money from it is... Look Duke Nukem as a series is fun and I enjoy it. The world is sleazy and all that which make the asshole you play as not just less of an asshole, but even some kind of a hero. But Duke Nukem Forever... Oh boy, it is greasy and when Duke was a hero because the universe was sleazy, imagine now Duke is now as sleazy as the universe he is in. Or worst. (I'd recommend to check Civvie's review [External Link] out -and I'd advise watching a follow-up episode on the alpha leaked [External Link]
For H&D? Never played it, but WW2 as a setting. Heeeeeeh, no.
It has value for some of those games (tho XCOM first contact with the player is... rough, but it's XCOM.) but then you have the negative value game in this for me... Which I believe we shouldn't allow to make money on. But that's just me.

Inspired by F.E.A.R., the retro FPS 'Selaco' is getting a big demo upgrade

Like, this isn't a bit (even quite a bit) of blood on the whole. There is blood, guts and most of the room is torn apart.
Why bring me to my one critic. It lack some slow-mo. I know. But I can only agree with some people on how it far more enjoyable when the whole place goes down in a pile of rubbles. On the other hand, ok, it may not serve the gameplay and I get that.
Shite man, now I want to play it again. And it's a demo. The only other game that do that to me is Fortune's Run.
Keep the good retro FPS coming please.

Quoting: fagnerlnI didn't see any similarity to FEAR, maybe it's more noticeable when playing. On the other hand, I felt the FEAR inspirations. When you start a firefight, everybody knows about it.
But it really looks good

Quoting: TheRiddickIs this a narrative on rails story shooter or a Open-World Story shooter? do you live in the world or just follow a preset line of leveled missions? Just bit confused as to what it offers other then obvious stuff.Pretty akin of Ion Fury, Shadow Warrior and such, you get into a map and sections are blocked off, exploring bring you lore and unlock sections.

Thanks for the pinned comment feature, it'll help people not have to drag through comments. Here it's helpful, but in a 5 pages of comment situation, it's needed.
Thanks d10sfan for explaining the reasons too. I had to deal with electron apps and unpolished rust crates, neither experiences were fun.
Also, considering many parts of godot seems to be pretty modular, or at least possible to tear down, it's interesting to see you take this path.
Considering the tweaks and what's not reimplementations of game engines help with, it's really cool to see them brought to the masses out there. I do remember way back in 2005 trying to get some game on linux and failing to understand how the parts were split (ie art versus code) and such, so any helper tool here is godsend.
