Quoting: GuestSomeone gave me boxed version of that game when it came out and I never got around to installing it. I wonder if the serial would work for Steam. It should, I got a platinum collection of Half-Life when I purchased my first PC, in 2001, registered perfectly fine the first time I installed steam, after looking up wtf all the TFC server had went, after reinstalling the game in august 2004.

Quoting: PlintslîchoI wish the would release this game DRM free, for example on GOG.com as well.Their games don't have DRM, they just use steam for centralized patching and versioning. You could copy the folder elsewhere and run the game without steam if you wanted.
It sure looks very interesting!
Stellaris 1.5 will allow you to accept refugees, but it has upset some people

Quoting: shirethroneDoes that mean that I can accept them and force them into slavery? That would fit my Empire really well :DYes, but your treatment of their species and the pop ethic will affect how they prioritize where they choose to go first I would guess. Highly doubtful egalitarian would seek refuse with slaver for example, unless it is the last option before Soylent Intergalactic Mega Corporation (yes, I am actually making that one of my empire once 1.5 is out).

At that that would be a good resume of what I remember him posting about it on twitter and the official forum.

Quoting: ColomboIt doesn't seems to be "major" feature. Still no land armies redesign? Whole land warfare seriously needs one.Land combat is in the pipeline for change, but current game director was one of those that was against the land combat system during development, so he's looking into pretty heavy design change on that side of thing, so he isn't modifying anything to it until he can basically tear it off and drop in something better in place.

Wish I could help, but broke myself. What little money I can put on the side, away from hungry student loans, is part of the fund I call "keeping me sane, so I don't end up in the psychiatric ward," as I got anxiety problem, which can easily degenerate into depression.

Quoting: harfieldStellaris is a true paradox game : it's a good game for now, but the huge amount of DLC will turns it in an awesome game... I truely believe they didn't added everything they wanted to their games to begin with ; these DLCs are a strategy to renew players interest for the game...Well it is also that in software development, at some point you have to release or your just gonna get inflated development cost (unless dev are volunteer), without gaining anything (or donation starting to fall if you rely on those), so there is some feature they might have wanted to add, but just couldn't in time for the release, like the fallen empire waking up (which they had mentioned before the game release), which is part of the free patch.

Quoting: Guesti'm just a little disappointed they didn't use better quality files for the soundtrack. music is half this game and they used ogg at 160 Kbps (around 95% of the game size is the soundtrack). I liked the soundtrack so much i had purchased it in bandcamp months before the game released. I wonder if i can replace the ingame files for ones with higher quality...Michael Kelly indeed made a great soundtrack for the game. Here the official post on youtube for those who want to listen.
But yeah it's a visual novel, you either have the patience for it or you're better of skipping this one.

Quoting: CandricSIt seems like they made it 85% off instead of 10% on Steam while on GOG it's 10% off.The 85% is for owning Shadow Warrior and/or regular Hard Reset.

Quoting: TheRiddickSteamOS is still not ready for mainstream consumption. Missing drivers, bad driver optimizations, library file issues, AMD is still largely missing for sysreq on software. And then there is the MAJOR AAA titles still not wanting to port to Linux (where is my Skyrim and Fallout4?).Indeed lot of issue, should be solved when game developer use of current gen of graphic API become generalized. Currently the only Vulkan based game I know are Ashes of the Singularity (it supposed to get ported to Linux) and DOTA2 (which is currently in a beta release for the Vulkan port).
Maybe some of those issues will be sorted out in the next 12 months I dunno. But Valve KNOWS what must be done to make it successful.
