Quoting: rustybroomhandleI guess it strikes a similar nerve to Unmanned where you play a drone pilot.I think the game here strives to be exciting and fun. Molleindustria, the makers of Unmanned, are striking that uncanny nerve intentionally. Molleindustria are doing serious/educative games. They did the "anti-advergame" McDonalds-Manager [External Link] and Phone Story [External Link] for example.

Eh... this seems to cross the border between fiction and reality for me in a very wrong way. I don't think I want to play this.

Looks interesting! I do appreciate all the coop games that are coming up.
Fun fact: One of the early tech demos of Shadow of the Colossus consisted of 4 networked players working together fighting big creatures. Though, the game came out quite different in the end.

Unsung Story, a game previously funded by Kickstarter has started again under a new developer

Wow... is this for real? Playdek collected the money and did not even develop an alpha or something? It would be only fair to give the Kickstarter money to the new developer. But as I understand, the money is already "spent". But on what exactly?
How is it legally? If the Kickstart project literally doesn't do anything, can he be sued? Or is every developer completely free to do as they like with any amount of money?

I really dig the style of the game. Music sounds good, too. Ancient relics, giants... that's exactly the game for me.
Some initial thoughts on Robocraft, the free to play game about building and fighting vehicles

Honestly, this game would be perfect for an open source game. The fun lies not in the worldbuilding, the assets or the story, it lies in the ability to create, share and use vehicles in multiplayer battles. Also, such a game could be infotainment at the same time, teaching kids a little bit about mechanics, using resources and tweaking automation, which would be needed skills in the world the kids will be living in. After playing Robocraft for a bit, I built a version of the Godot Engine with Bullet physics support and dabbled a bit with it. Maybe I'll stick with a project this time. ;)

One strange issue was linking my Steam account, it said my Steam name was available, but it didn't let me register. Changing my name to something random did work, odd, but it worked in the end. That also didn't work out for me. I replaced all spaces in my Steam name with an underscore and that made it work. I think it doesn't accept some characters. They should be a bit more specific about that.
I had a lot more fun than I was expecting.I also didn't expect this game to be so much fun. It's really rough around the edges, but it is still so good and just fun. It reminds of the times where we as kids would build Lego cars and let them crash.

I wonder how many of those are bots. I've seen some squads with names like "Timmy", "TimmyXXX", "Timmyabc", "Timmylol". I think it's safe to assume that no party of real buddies are using such names.
On top of that, there are some rumors of many AFK bots in the game, who do nothing else but constantly get into a new round to farm some BP. With BP you get chests. Now you can sell the chest or whatever is inside. I've seen a picture lately where ~25 people were AFK and came down on the same spot.
Edit: But... that's way offtopic. Ryan Gordon is way more important to talk about! :)

Quoting: Whitewolfe80you say dev kind of stretching it he is a modder using arma code to make a game that is stand alone. The reason why it's not on linux is i expect because he has no idea how to make a linux port or how to change the code for a linux port. He and his team (if there is one) are clearly talented but player unknown is a mod that blew up to a full game (with one map and shit loads of glitches)The company who did PUBG is a south korean based game company Bluehole. "Player Unknown" has the position of creative director in that company.

It would be nice if there was an open protocol on how to distribute and (delta) update software. You could have an open source client with multiple accounts, just like a mail client with multiple mail accounts - just with software/games. Optional proprietary plugins could be provided for DRM purposes or multiplayer functionality.
After all, I want to buy just the game itself. Everything else like discussion boards, communities, friends list, screenshot uploader and so on don't have to be a part of that.
